_man is propably greek - fits and doesnt fit. 17N was rumoured to hire trained guns from abroad to do the job

_explosive mechanisms in flying doplhins - fits big time the company was accused and explosives is a prefered way for 17N

_sloppyness in setting explosives - doesnt fit not one in a million - 17N is 100% precise, almost never screwes up.

_man is around 35 - fits and doesnt fit - 17N are of the generation of the polytechneio - they are old now buit maybe they have recruited a second generation of people

17 November is a red terrorist organization (they prefere the term revolutionary themselves).

They have killed the brit military attache in athens in 2000 (IIRC) for the UK's role in the bombing of Yugoslavia (as they said)

In 1975 IIRC they killed a guy who said he was just an employee in US embassy in Athens but in fact was teh CIA stationed chief in Athens (they killed him for punishment in the US sponsoring of the junta in Greece)


They have killed around 23 people from 1975 til 2000. Most greek businessmen.

Niot many killings yes but there was never any hint about this organization, not even a capture. it is like a phantom

it has simmilarities with raf, actine directe, red brigades but is way more secretive and close and... infinitely "better".

was charged by the greek state for neglect in the keeping of the fire safety measures on 15 of flying dolphins (no fire extinguihsers) and the responsibles of the company were going to stand trial.
also in trial will be the state inspectors because they signed that there were these safety measures whereas in fact there were not.

Obviously if there was going to be a fire accident, people could get injured or worse.

17N is known to bust business men for what it says is the louben exploitation of the working classes. But I'd think this is a very small "illgality" for 17N to be bothered with...

they seem to prefere what they say are businessmen who exploit the people's wealth and governmental people of finance.

it was thought that 17N was no more untill it killed the brit attache. (because it said that Blair's audacity in pushing for bombing of civilians had outpassed even the american imperialists - that's why they chose a brit and not an american they said - they said he was involved in the bombing of Yugoslavia but the british government said that he was elsewhere at the time)

i dont idolize them but i understand why they are doing it (why they say they are doing it)

if what they say is true or not is another matter, in some cases i think it is.

i'm not sure if they serve a role in greece anymore.

we have parliementary representation (despite the better efforts of US and other centers - if you want to disprove it just open up the CIA files) so normally they should be redudnant.

i am against terrorism of any kind

i would like them to either stop or get caught though because this sort of behavior is not healthy in a parliamentary democracy, although they say that it is parliementary fascism.(something with which i do not agree)

they also tarnish the international image of greece and the hellenic people are not interested in forming a communist society. (quite the contrary).

i think they do not have a reason to do what they do.


as far as protecting social welfare etc I think that this must be done in a fighting fashion yes, thrpough strikes etc when the situation demands it.

i dont think it is healthy to do it the way they are.

also they coukd be just wacko murderers but they are too intelectual for that.

I just think it is not healthy for a democratic Greece to have them.

you misunderstood. 17 November is the day of celebration of the student uprising that brought down the dictatorship (the one you, the US, said that it was the best government for greece...)

it is usual in that day for small arsons to happen against american targets by all sorts of people. no biggie, tradition

(and yes i think it's wrong and should stop)


the gas canister "bomb" was one of these and i was refering to the date not the group.
