Very clever linking.

For those who don't care to read it, it's obviously an editorial.

Many people would like to see a democratic elections in US, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.

are you serious?

Well first off the electorial college means someone can win even if the majority didnt vote for them......so its not a democratic election to start......not to mention the last electionw as RIGGED(rigged in the manner that Bush's brother, the govenor of Florida told the florida supreme court which way to send the election).

I'm quite serious. I never said our elections were democratic. They aren't. The U.S. is not a democracy.

Are you educated on the American system? Jeb Bush cannot "tell" any court to find one way or another in a decision. Separation of powers and whatnot. W won the election legally, he had the majority of the electoral votes. The popular vote makes no difference in U.S. elections due to the electoral college, and surely would have been different under a different electoral system.

Got spare money?

Does this sound familiar:
* The self-declared winner is the son of the former prime minister and that former prime minister was himself the former head of that nation’s secret police (CIA).
* The self-declared winner lost the popular vote but won based on some 200-year-old colonial holdover from the nation’s pre-democracy past.
* The self-declared winner's 'victory' is based solely on disputed votes cast in a province governed by his brother!
* At least 100,000 votes in this disputed province were thrown into the trash as void.
* Maybe intentionally confusing, poorly drafted ballot of one district, a district heavily favoring the self-declared winner's opponent, led thousands of voters to vote for the wrong candidate or make a mistakes that would cause their vote to be thrown out.
* Members of that nation's most despised caste, fearing for their lives/livelihoods, turned out in record numbers to vote in near-universal opposition to the self-declared winner's candidacy.
* Hundreds of members of that most-despised caste were intercepted on their way to the polls by provincial police operating under the authority of the self-declared winner's brother .
* The self-declared winner and his political party opposed a more careful by- hand inspection and recounting of the ballots in the disputed province or in its most hotly disputed district.

-True, but that doesn't make the complaints any less legitimate. I don't ***** about the refereeing in the Spain- S. Korea game, but that doesn't mean I have to believe Spanish fans have nothing to complain about.

-Nonsense. If you like the outcome of something, you must be stupid or have very strong principles to complain about the way it happened.

Oh yeah. The old "He is criticizing our goverment, he must therefore be a commie!" -routine.

But no. I actually like when the candidates who get the more votes than others win.

I think you missed the point. If the only reason one complains about an outcome is because they don't like said outcome, it is suspect.

-Oh... I've been complaining about the electoral college since before this election. This only fed me a good example of what was wrong with it.
