Just heard it happen on T.V. show I was watching got interupted......someon at an El-Al(the Israeli air service) terminal at an airport in LA opened fire, killing 2 people..the gunmen was then shot down....whole airport was evacuated and half the planes on the western sea board are being grounded.

CNN just said an "inside source" said it might be the Al Ask martyr brigade.....no official word on the nationality of the gunman.

While terrible life was lost, it seems like it could have been much worse.

It's unfortunate that the people died, sometimes you get lucky and they only get wounded.

It was for Israel (El Al) airlines, so it might have been a hate crime. Although I dislike the term hate crime .

This was not a "hate crime".

It was another attack of Islamic terrorism.

The man who opened fire in the airport knew he had no chance to get out of there alive and currently only muslim terrorists do such actions.

Ok 6 injured when small plane crashed into Binelli (not sure how that is spelled) park in San Dimas, California (essentually L.A.)

It was a very small plane, unlikely a terrorist attack.

Everything indicates it's an accident, but the proximity to the terror attack in the airport is suspicious.

IBA News (Israeli PBS) : FBI source - the Aircraft sent distress signals before crashing. Not a terrorist action.

Channel 10 (Israel) : FBI - no reason to believe it was a terrorist. Very possibly a raving lunatic.

CNN, BBC and IBA: 2 dead, one of them the gunman. 2 critically injured. 1 stabbed woman (who is stabber?) 1 woman with severe chest pain.

IBA: Israeli Foreign Ministry - All the casualties were expecting to board El Al flight 106 to Tel Aviv. None of them Israelis.

yeah the small crash radioed into the control tower that he was having trouble getting lift (or something to that regard). It's unfortunate that he hit a crowd of people.

How about that Israeli travel minister? He doesn't even know all the facts and he's saying this is terrorism. What the hell.

For all we know he was a fat person that was charged double for taking up 2 seats and got pissed.

eyewitness account say this guy was shouting something about his job.

He may have been layed off. As a tradition americans routinely shoot their coworkers when they get layed off.

The only witness account I have heard about the shootings in LAX said that the gunman was yelling something about someone taking his job - which makes it sound like it was someone going 'postal'.


I don't really understand why this is such huge news though... it seems like a pretty minor incident to make head lines.

As far as Israeli Minister goes: You have to understand that this has to be the base assumption of Israeli government.

We aren't a normal state and it's much more probable that we will be attacked by terrorists rather then crazy employees.

All the attacks previously were made by terrorists, therefore, Israeli authorities must always assume the worst.

He said it himself on CNN - this kind of event, on this specific date makes it very likely to be a terrorist event.

Speaking of terror: WALLA quotes Israeli Radio wire:

El Al flight 615 from Tel-Aviv to Moscow reported that around 20:30 (8:30 PM) GMT (that is 20 minutes after the shooting in LA) , a SAM shooting was spotted on the right side of the plane, and it exploded near it.

The plane managed to land safely in Moscow.
