Spray, if you can't see the difference between criticising the character of a nation and criticising the policies of a government, then you're not as bright as I gave you credit for...

All I told Tingki to do was to think about the title of the thread and what Americans are saying before he jumps in and brings in the whole "Americans don't think for themselves routine" Then you jumped in as if I was attacking all of you. I thought Jon did a rather mild troll of all the Canadian trout. Mild, that's why it worked.

Exactly. His style is admirable and most of the standard trolls would do well to read this thread and take lessons.

Yup, I always defend my fellow Canadians and never attack their ideas.

When the four Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanistan, the Canadians posters here were all in agreement, except for Asher and NYE who argued accidents can happen while I argued accidents can be prevented.

To paraphrase what KH said:

If someone attacks a policy of the Canadian government, the Canadian posters will not form a united front.

If someone attacks a policy of the American government, the American posters tend to circle their wagons and complain about anti-American trolls.

I've seen you start on this tirade a dozen times to now, Sprayber. You can't take it personally when somebody is annoyed at the actions of Bush&co. (or Nixon&co., or any previous admin) and feels the urge to speak his mind.

Remember when you (an American) posted a thread about my beloved PM? Who was first in line to make fun of him?

Remember when Asher, Tingkai, I, NYE et al had those late-night discussions about the structure of our government? Nobody was angry when you and DinoDoc felt the urge to add your 2 cents (which boiled down to something like "you should be more like us").

I am proud to be Canadian. I have no problem accepting that you are proud to be American, and can sympathise with your viewpoint, but the fact is that what the US does has serious implications for the rest of us, so please understand that we have a stake in making our voice heard on the subject. We're not doing it because we get our jollies out of US-bashing (unless we're trolling, which should never be taken seriously); we're concerned with what happens to us and the rest of the world.

If you're so annoyed with other people criticising your government, you should consider ceding your position as a superpower; if it wasn't so important, we wouldn't care so much.

Come on, if SM were posting the cr*p about us that he posts about the US, we wouldn't all trash him? It's gotten to the point where the guy can't even tell a joke without many people, from everywhere dumping on him. The cr*p has gone on so long that the humour is lost.

There's truth in what you say. The response of American posters is probably due to the large and ongoing number of criticisms against the American government. If we were in their situation we might act the same, then again we might not. We'll never know.

At the same time, there is tendency among American posters to immediately go aflaming in response to neutral comments.

I get upset when they post the same **** over and over again.

I posted the thread to find out about the PM. IIRC you were the one that was first to start the insults. I don't know enough about the man to insult him. I merely listened in.

There is nothing wrong with giving your views on things. But tell me how many threads I have started trashing Canadian goverment? Name one KH. It's when you see the same threads over and over again with lines like "Americans don't think for themselves" "Americans are too patriotic." No one that has ever spent much time in the US mind you, but those that only see things on TV or the all holy newspaper.

Troll shouldn't be taken seriously, but hearing someone harp on the same subject in multple threads gets tedious. Don't be surprised if at times a few of us get tired of it and say so. Just like this incident in LA. It just happen for christ sakes and many people are already waiting who gets to post the riot thread. If you don't feel that my point pretain to you then don't worry about them.

I'm annoyed by people who critize and offer no other solution. People who critize just to see their words in print. People who critize because its the cool radical thing to do. And KH, Id be more than happy to let Canada or the EU or Russia or whoever the hell wants to put with the ****, take care of the world. It causes more problems for us then it helps. So KH, please encourage your goverment to take over things. It will be blessing for us.

That's just more propaganda from the American Imperialist Running Dogs. We know the truth. You've all been brainwashed to think and act the same way. And the reason we know this is true is because Canadian secret agents are the ones doing the brainwashing.

Not to get off topic but why do people like Celion Deion?

Have you ever noticed that her mouth is a little weird? She looks somewhat like the joker the way her mouth looks. Did she get plastic surgery or something.

Why do canadians fight so much? Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

I dont know why I missed this thread until now. Isnt the answer obvious - its the beer! All I know is that 20 years ago I used to drink Canadian beer and I used to fight a lot in and out of bars across the Great White North. Now I dont drink Canadian beer and I havent been involved in "an altercation" in a while. I think the connection is obvious. Canadian beer contains ingredients that provokes aggression, especially in connection with hockey.

nah, the reason Canadians are peaceful is because we play hockey. I'm pretty much a pacificist off ice, but put me in the rink and I'll take out the other guy real good. Like tonight. I smuck a guy into the boards and man did it ever feel good.
