I think several thousand Hebrew guys seeing the sea part and let them pass, but then kill the Eygptian guys, is evidence enough. If it was a fake story, then it would die out. But you can't argue with thousands of Hebrew guys.
Also, God destroyed 2 cities that were full of sinners. He seems to be allowing us to destroy ourselves now. Why won't people believe in Him if they don't believe thousands of people seeing something only God can do?

You are assuming a false story dies out... hmm... then I wonder why people know about King Arthur and Robin Hood (especially since both were also passed off as historical fact for a while)
Although I believe in God (though perhaps a bit differently from how you believe in him), your reasons for believing in him aren't fool proof. Faith is something from within.... from the heart and mind and can not be proved by 'science' or even 'experience'. It is 'proved' as well as it can be in your own mind. If one is seeking miracles to prove God, he has a tendency to create miracles in his mind, for his yearning for God is so great...
thanks

I get the impression(in England anyway) that less and less people are believing in god. I was at school last year and i didnt know of a single person who went to church. I think there was one but he only went because his parents made him. Also, none of my friends or there parents go to church. Ive never even been myself. Not once!

It was Yahweh who parted the sea beacuse He said so. No other god claimed it.
And there is no way thousands of people would get drunk and see the same thing at the same time. They didn't drink because they were being chased by an army of angry war chariots.

A couple of generations and no one will believe in god anymore, well in the western world anyway. Im sure in the middle east they will carry on just like they are now though.

"for a while" being the key word there. Myths like King Arthur died out as literacy and knowledge improved. But nothing can explain the whole Red Sea moving.

How about I make it even simpler? How about, I can feel God in my heart so I know He exists. You can't argue with that, my friends!

Well that's probably because we lack the historical data to disprove it. We know that King Arthur did not exist as the king with Lancelot and the knights of the round table because we have historical information that shows that there was no such king in Western European history from the fall of Rome to the present day.
We do not have Egyptian records to prove or disprove the Red Sea parting... all we have is the bible. If all we had was Arthurian legends then you could say that was truth with as much certain as you now say the sea parting is truth.

But God isn't what I make up, like you think! It isn't "from within." I don't place God in myself, He places himself in me. See what I mean?

Mobius, Allah is false. God is real. Although one would argue that they are the same, they are not. One of them believes in peace, justice, and all that is good. The other believes in suicide bombings and terrorism. A loving god would never, ever encourage that, although Muslims claim Allah is loving.
God created us and he loves us. He would never want us to blow each other up.

Oh it's the same thing... the scientist claims to have definitive proff but it is nothing but theories... and that's assuming that even if measured proff of the universe's forming was discovered, that it would be objective

"No, could you elaborate a bit more pelase?"
I mean, I don't place my own deity within me, and totally go on faith to believe in him. I don't just believe in God through faith, I KNOW he is there! The way people say "God is what you make him to be" is why there are Hindus and Muslims corrupting our world. God being within you is just a manifestation of what is already there, not something that you have willingly done. Putting faith in God is accepting Him, not making him up.
