I hope the ppl of aploytonia will soon open an embassy thread in phoenatica, my home country.

As the mayor of delhpi county, i would really appreciate to welcome your embassy in my city.
You would have the advantage of a nearby national park and a recreational area with a nice resort where you could do all kinds of sports.

Shortly, I made the poll about embassies as promised and they were approved by the people. The result was, that you may decide to open embassies at will and without further polls. Although asking for the Pres/SMC's opinions would be good.

What we are talking about here, is to open an embassy thread in Phoenatica, the Civ3 Demogame over there at CivFanatics. As you are a poster there too, this should be easy doing for you, and as our foreign minister you have the right and duty to do so.

I officially second sir ralph. Some official positon should open the thread. We even had travelers from apolytonia over here already, and they started conversation. Just the official embassy is missing.

I think I am missing some info here, embassies with Phoenatica? I don't understand the purpose of this.

Though I have full power to open embassies, I want to make sure the President and Military Advisor have their say on which civilizations we should have an embassy in.

It's just a friendly act between our fellow Civ3-Demogamers at CFC and us to open mutual embassies. Just open a thread in their Civ3-Demogame forum with a short official greeting message from the Apolytonian government. This thread can be used to share experiences and for questions and advices to/from the other side. They already opened their embassy here: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthre...?threadid=56715

I think it's a good idea and would have done it myself, but I think it's up to our Foreign Minister to make it official.

We do have one question. A couple of our citizens were visiting your turn chat. We would like to know how is it that several of you seem to be playing the game? How do you adjust for the random battles that go different ways?

We turned the "preserve random seed" option on. This way, results will be the same for everyone as long as they all take the same actions.

As for the detop, I think Ninot is trying to get everythinng detopped that he can to allow more non-topped threads to be on page 1. But I agree it should be topped; what we need at Apolytonia is subforums, not a lot of detoppings that allow only a few more threads on the first page.

In which way can we as the representatives of phoenatica have a discussion with the leading ministers and your president to bring our relations back to normal?

If we could get our embassy topped again in apolytonia, i will surely take immediate action to top it if an apolytonian embassy if founded in phoenatica.

I think our relationship shouldn't suffer from th detopping of the Phoenatican embassy thread. Topped threads are intented to give vital info to the casual gamers, and nothing which doesn't directly involves the current game should be topped (this includes several other threads, like the census, and the election, when it will be done).

We people of Apolytonia and from Phoenatica, can continue to exchange ideas in our threads, and push them atop of the "normal" threads, as a sign of our eternal friendship (that is, until PtW comes out )

BTW, I think the embassy in Phoenatica shouldn't be the initiative of the foreign minister, as phoenaticans aren't from our world (so they're not really foreigners).
Maybe we should elect embassadors in Phoenatica, or just let the first interested person open a thread there, called "embassy of Apolytonia"

the problem of detopping some threads is:
they get out of sight really quick!
example census:
votes dont count as post, so even if all are voting, the census goes down the drain. if its away from the top 10-20 threads, it will be useless.
embassy:
it will be forgotten about if nobody sees it. we dont have to put in 500 posts a day, but this amount will propably be needed to get it on top of the non-topped all the time.
the solution could be
a) topping
b) posting useless posts to top the threads
c) making subforums ;-)
