Tom, take a look at the studies linked to the article you hyper-linked. The one study of functional differences between circumcised and uncircumcised shows that the only functional difference between the two was a higher rate of sexual dysfunction among uncircumcised men over 45. OTOH circumcised men were more likely to engage in heterosexual oral sex and masturbation. |
Well, the study shows a functional difference, which I think is what you asked for. For what it's worth, here's a recent anectodal report from a foreign student in the US:
Hello, please allow me to send you this message.
I am 24 years old male who had a circumcision as an adult 4 years ago. I was cut right below the glans which removed inner foreskin and all the foreskin components totally. Since the operation, I notice that I can never get orgasm neither from sex nor masturbation. Before the circumcision, whenever penis gets erected, the foreskin gets stretched, and sended a sexually turn on signal to the brain. I say this is erogenous trigger. Now that I don't have any foreskin that can be stretched, I have an erection but no erotic trigger to the brain anymore although I try to be erotic in the brain. Ridge band was very erogenous tissue and so as rest of the inner foreskin. I can no longer get erotic sensation from my penis. Only sensation i get from glans is not really erotic and I really have to get erotic stimulation from some kind of sources (like porn, naked woman etc) to get some sort of sexual
excitement. But without the foreskin, the sensation is totally different kind and no signal to brain like i used to get with foreskin stimulation. I really hope that scientists and doctors persue research on function of
foreskin and it's components and prove the importance of it. I am living very very difficult life since the operation because i can never obtain orgasm and erotic sensation which i used to have everytime and the problem is often a suicidal matter. The hope I have for living is the regenerative medicine will create some method to regenerate amputated foreskin and nerve endings to regain the sensation and function of the
circumcised penis. Is there any research on foreskin regeneration today anywhere in the world? I really hope that I can find some information on this topic. Please give me any information that you have in this matter. I really appreciate for your support.

This bullshit that it was cut off because it made sex too pleasurable is just that: bullshit. |
A hundred years ago, when people were uptight about sex, doctors said circumcision WOULD reduce sexual pleasure. Today, when people are less uptight, doctors say circumcision WON'T reduce sexual pleasure. What does that tell you?

Well, this has gotten rather dull for me. But thanks for playing, Asher. Bottom line--I hold the cards, since, as you've pointed out, I've got nothing to lose, right? |
You hold nothing, Sneak. You're a pathetic loser that only sunk even further in the eyes of many tonight by your threats to out a teenager to his parents because you felt your ego was hurt.

Cya. |
I don't live a lie, I just haven't told them. There's a difference, and it's none of your concern what I do with my family.

Circumcision wasn't common among Christians in the 19th century. It became prevalent in the US during the 20th century when in-hospital birthing became dominant since medical recommendation favored circumcision.
