The Taosoich expressed his concern when informed that Mayan military readiness has remained heightened. Previously this had been ascribed to the actions of the Caretaker Government in place during the absence of Premier Slamp. It would appear not however, and as a very close neighbour Ireland has cause for concern. We would appreciate reassurance from the Mayan Government that this is not the prelude to the initiation of hostilities against any nation, especially Ireland herself.

Did you get the last turn or not?
If not what wouldst you have me do? I can set you to AI or try another conduit but I rather fear that I do not have the original to play over again and know that I deleted, forever, the posted turn.
Unless somewhere lurking in Netscapes own dustbin I'm going to have to have it resent in any event.

Irish Government Foreign Ministry Statement
We ask that Premier Slamp of the Mayans accepts our apologies for the placement of Irish warships outside his Channel Ports but ask him to understand our anxiety about his heightened state of military readiness.
These vessels will be removed upon Ireland's next turn should the Mayan Empire be found to have returned to an 'at peace' status.

Honourable Slamp of the Mayans. Please be advised that the current state of military readiness of all our neighbours is of critical importance to Ireland.
In terms of trespass it is our belief that we have not actually entered Mayan territorial waters but simply positioned ships along the likely lines of approach from your ports to the Irish coast. Ireland is backward, small and weak and must therefore be very cautious in her dealings with nations as mighty as yours.
