No kidding

I used to make stuff up and don't act like I really am, with girls at least. I stopped doing that when I broke up with my last girlfriend.

Guess why I've been single ever since?

well, mainly my fault I guess. I studied philosophy for a while, and when that comes up in a conversation with a woman, and she asks me what philosophy really is, I turn around, walk away and order another Scotch.

Besides, I'm not geeky, I'm sophisticated.

Hello! Its the real world. This isnt a happy dippidy doo dah land with fairy princesses and bunny rabbits and foxes frolicking side by side in the sunshine. The world is ugly. Ugly things happen.

We can fight our own fight, however the ghosts of veitnam are with us still. That was a genuine fear at the time. Why get our own sons and daugters killed when there was already eager to do the fighting? They just needed a little help, thats all.

May I add some anti-American crap here? Please? PLEASE I'm so bored.
Marcus,
Why are you surprised? You can't change them. They always seek someone to do their dirty work. As long as their allies are acting in US self-interests they portrayed as nice guys. If their new allies stop kissing uncle Sam's ass, they portray as Satans.

Is Vietnam was different? Aren't you just done a little help to South?
Please, refresh my memory and remind me one, single war USA fought alone.

As long you have no need in them, you let them fought (and terrible losing this fought) on their own.
You think showdowns between NA and Taliban started after Sept. 11?

Thank you.

The Civil War I know that's not fair... I got more...
The Spanish American War...
The War with Mexico...

Actually, Serb, it is good that the USA hasn't fought many wars on its own. That means we have allies who believe in freedom and democracy. The Vietnam War was about stopping an aggressive communist country from invading a democratic one, ditto to Korea. Of course the US will only butt in when its own interests are threatened. It's a catch-22 with you people. If we stay out of wars, we are letting fighting go on. If we intervene, we are bad because we support the lesser of the two evils. This anti-American blather is tiresome ... find a new horse to back, Johnny.

Suffering from ads?

I agree with many of you Anti-Americans that most of the Imperialistic tendencies that the US exhibits are bad; but unfortunately, not many Americans know the truth, and many Americans don't care because life for them is good. But the thing that bothers me is that despite America's faults, we are still the greatest country on Earth. But don't take my word for it, just ask the millions of immigrants that escaped the horrors of war and oppression in Europe and Asia and came to the US to make a new life. No other country has opened its borders to immigrants the way the US has. And that is one of our biggest flaws. There are too many people coming in to filter through the good and the bad. I don't blame the government for becoming a superpower and rattling its sabre. Freedom must be protected.

wtf? WTF? W T F?

Me? Criticizing the US for its actions in Afghanistan? When I said that I'm criticizing the US for Afghanistan?
I'm absolutely gratefull to US for it's actions in Afghanistan. The Taliban, this snake's nest should be destroyed long ago and it's very good that USA finally realized this, too sad that for this you'll have to went through Sept. 11.
Again, everything what consider war vs. Taliban, I'm with US 100%. But...
BUT ... I'm really sick of US hypocricity. Untill Sept 11 you absolutely don't care about this growing evil. Sure, why you should care about this evil regime if it don't hit you? You have done nothing to help NA in their war vs. Taliban (and yes, NA is much, MUCH lesser evil in compare with Taliban). In fact you prevent all attempts to help them. The embargo against Afghanistan was removed just recently. Perhaps it was in your national interests? Perhaps.
But only not in our national interests. The Taliban was headache for Kremlin since very long time. Do you think it's cool to have such agressive, extrimist and fundamenalist neighbor? We supported NA for about two years before Sept 11. Just notice, NA- our former enemies, their leader- Ahmad Shah Masud was (killed by Taliban assain) one of the legendary heroes of war vs. Soviets. Our former enemies become our allies, because the Taliban was absolute evil. We supported NA, but it was covert support (only after beggining of American campaign this support was revealed, but sure 99% of you never heard about this) BECAUSE you have no problems with Taliban. And if our actions were revealed before you changed your opinion about them after Sept 11, then no doubt, YOU'll started a super scandal how Russian violate an embargo against Afghanistan.
The Taliban was at least particialy, a CIA creation.
You like to play games with villians, like Tliban. You think you can control them, and make them act in your favour always- this is what I'm greatly disagreed.

P.S. Again, thanks that you finally changed your mind about Taliban and for your help to NA.

Today's Iraq is not so strong as it was before 1991. People are dying there because of international isolation and sanctions. I don't beleive that Saddam have any WOMD.
I guess in our national interests to see Iraq as independant country (yes, Saddam is not not perfect, but at least he don't kiss your ass), then as another uncle Sam's whore.

That's a pretty naive statement, especially considering the evidence that Saddam has chemical and biological weapons. The only WOMD we suspect he doesn't have is nuclear, which the world would be smart to keep out of Saddam's reach.

And no, I don't think that an attack on Iraq would have anything to do with oil. We don't need Iraqi oil; if we did, we would have taken Baghdad back in 1991.

Thanks Vagabond.

DanS,
Do you ever heard about proposal-price conection (or whatever it called on your monkey language)? Many oil-lower prices, less oil higher prices. It's simple.
Few months ago we decreased our oil output in accordance with agreements with OPEC for few months, just to keep prices high. We can do it again any time.

FYI, it is widely understood that y'all didn't hold to that agreement, even for a moment.

Not that I blame you though. You guys need the $ and OPEC can just as well sod off. Only a fool wouldn't ratchet up production at these prices.

First of all we are not a member of OPEC and as far as I remember we fulfilled our agreement with them. Our oil output was reduced for few months. But you right, why we should we care about OPEC's opinion, while we can make an additional $$$.

My production (roaylty interests) have gone way up, as well as leasing activity on non-producing mineral interests. Most of my mineral interests are in marginal properties (not enough fracturing or pourousness for the oil to flow through the rock, or old fields nearing the end of production and needing enhanced recovery techniques) that are not ecomonic at lower prices; the cost of production is too high. They kick in around $25 dollars a barrel. There is a significant supply of these properties in Texas, and I would assume so elsewhere in the USA, which rapidly make a MODEST adjust to supply when the prices rise enough to cover the higher production costs.
