XX Century scenario Support Apolyton

General

This is non historical simulation of XX century. Game starts in 1894. Each turn takes one month.

Map

I created this scenario using Earth [Real] map. Size 256x256

Units

There are a lot of new units and some new resources, see Info file for details.

All sea units have their movement rate doubled.

New Concepts

I have made some interesting changes to units and resources see Info file for details.

See the homepage of XX Century: Age of Wars

http://www.geocities.com/aeroprinz/Civ3/index.html

or just download

http://www.geocities.com/aeroprinz/Civ3/XXC1_3.zip

***
Version 1.3 changes
- 35 new untis
- new concept of "National Engineering"
- new resources: Industry and Engineering
- new concept of "Mechanical Units"
- new Units of WW1 period
- new Units of WW2 period
- correction to city names spelling
- standard resources redistributed
- a lot of minor changes for balancing the game

Version 1.2 changes
- 22 Civilizations
- Changes in Cities
- More military units for some coutries
- Month time scale
- Reseach are much slower
- AI is tent to be more aggresive to each other

There is a proposal in place that has been sent to Firaxis and Atari. Suggestion is for them to include a CD called Best of the Net with Civilization III: Conquests to be released later this year.

Vote for the project!

Nice scenario. Good work

EDIT: As AeroPrinz has left us for unknown reasons, I have posted a NEW VERSION of this scenario myself. You'll find it at the bottom of PAGE THREE of this threat.

Talking about Germany: Where is Hamburg? It was (is?) one of the most important harbours in Europe? And I agree to tarpoon's coal suggestion.

Sweden: Copenhagen is way to large! Denmark never was so powerful. Oh, and you could rename "Sweden" to "Scandinavia".

France/Russia: Why are there sources of rubber near Paris and Warszaw? This is an exotic resource. Maybe you add some to South America?

But still a great scenario!

yes, the AI blocks it, same with the street of gibralta

I had to use a lot of privateers to open the way to the oceans and the brits replaced thier ironclawd with a battleship . Could you increase the Movement points of the privateers?
It is a pain to bring them from thier east sea docks through the english channel to the street of gibralta at thier current speed.

Also you should add some resorces resources to skandinavia, oil for example.

Blocades in Gibraltar and the Skaggerag (sp?) are realistic... I like that and I don't really need a German fleet in the Atlantic ocean as my expansion targets Russia...

Hey, AeroPrinz, I hope your will not include leader pics or new unit graphics into your new version as the download size of this scenario could get troublesome to me...

In reality Germans had a kill channel which let them to move their fleet from Baltic to the Ocean. I am not sure how to implement this important feature here.

About the leader heads, and new units. I think every civ in this scenario must had a uniq types of units, but right now I do not have enough time to make them. The same with leader heads. I think this will make the scenario much more enjoyable. But in downloading section I will put separate files for the scenario and for the additional graphics.

Yep, true. If you plan to place Hamburg on this map, you could make it a link between the Baltic and the sea around England.
But in this case you'd have to place Copenhagen further north... think about it...

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

I found a bug: some cities start with a population over 12 but don't have hospitals, so they don't grow and you can't build hospitals if you don't starve them down to 12.

I seem to be having problems downloading the zip file for all of the scenario's I've tried to check out. I end up getting empty zip files. Hopefully I'm just goofing up something easy, but any suggestions of what that is would be appreciated.

I suppose all cities that start with size 13 or higher and have no hospital...

Btw, if your cities starve by pollution, wouldn't it be better to let them shrink by creating workers that clear this pollution??

at the beginning the turns took about 5 minutes on my Athlon XP 1800, now they take about 15 minutes, cause Japan and Britian declared war on each other and a lot of units are being moved around.

I have PIV 1.4Ghz with RIMM memory, and it takes about 20-30 sec in the beggining and later rise up to 9-10 minutes.
