You practice deciet and place military on our sovreign land and then claim that you are showing a sign of goodwill by removing half your troops? How would you like it if we took 4 of your cities and then returned 2 as a sign of goodwill???

This is madness. Why should we allow you to establish an embassy with us? You have showed no goodwill or made no move to bring friendship. Instead all you have done is invade our land.

Remove your troops at once. The matter of establishing embassies is a seperate issue. Do not mix them. We can discuss that seperately, but before we do, you must remove your troops from sovreign SFU territory.

This looks more and more like an EU meeting about a certain disease.

I will accept that much, that the only military unit left will be an ancient cannon. This unit will actually not be supported nor reinforced. The soldiers are from my old regiment, normally used for public purpose.

The unit will not be removed before be has an common understanding of peace and trade.

You will be free to attack if you like, but the act will be a heavy weight on your and your allieds shoulders.

It would be pure kill of some innocent retired armymen.

We advise the Irish to not interfere with our business, lest we change our mind and also interfere with theirs.

Rest Assured that, this "Provincial Governer" does not make empty threats, and his "province" packs enough punch to teach the English a lesson they wont forget for a Loooong while, regardless of your perception of their might.

It is interesting to note, how the Irish refused to interfere when the English attacked the viking, stating that they were both allies. However, despite signing an alliance with the Russians they now come running to support the English. Amusing.

Chairman Bird, Our demand still stands. If anything our resolve grows stronger. You have 3 turns within which to remove your troops or we will remove them ourselves regardless of anything or anyone. If you make any attempt to further increase your military operation in that region I will act instantaneously.

Our Socailist Brothers in England enjoy our full support and an attack upon them or their sovereign territory shall be regarded as an attack against Ireland herself.

Be careful 'King' Thor for you do not know yet what you are playing with. Ireland can and will lay waste to any land that dares touch the sovereign territory of the 'Southampton Pact' Members.

Ireland is a poor and impoverished Nation but having discovered the joy of overthrowing the vile Plebians and experiencing true freedom we have become strong in will if not in money.

As promised - all troops removed. There are now only a few veterans from the times before warfare became mobile, armed with an old-fashioned canon.

England does not go to war if the health of those troops are violated - but we will remember, that the soldiers of the SFU is capabel of killing old men, nearly unarmed.

As for the map, a viking messenger presented me a few hours ago, claiming that this was an old agreement - my comment is: Very-very interesting.

Then we actually are allowed to take one viking city, that are placed far west of that line. Or has I misunderstood the map?

If the vikings want to stick to that map - they now know what to do. Disband Bornholm or leave it to the english people, who already lives in that area and has done that for a many years.

We do not wish to kill your old cannoneers as we do not see them as a threat. However they are a military unit and they are on our land.

We still give you 3 turns to remove them. They may be old soldiers but they are still spying on our land and are still armed. Remove them and end this insanity. You will just cause their death, and further weakening of our relations.

I urge you to remove them, or they will be killed. I must put Russia before a few stupid old men.

Despite many generous warnings that he should mend his ways and seek the way of peace the 'Capitalist Dog' Slamp of the Mayans has continued to vex my poor weak and impoverished Nation. To orchestrate a worldwide trade embargo on the poorest of all people is beyond forgiveness and as a lesson to you we have released the citizens of Uaxatum and Kabna Lumna from their servitude.

The Workers Republic will not be toyed with, threatened or cajoled by those who see greatness only in the wallet! The starving children the Peoples Army rescued from the Mayan Cities were testimony to the vileness of their treatment by the money-grabbing fiends who dictate their lives.

I am satisfied with the prompt answer, that my comrade Chairman Jon gave those capitalistic moneylovers.

I have immidiately dispatched food and other nessesary goods for use between the Irish people, now that prices for food and fuel are rising due to the embargo.

Furthermore, one of my female agents has reported a mayan spy in the southern icyworld between PDRI and PDRE. Though dressed in white, he is a spy.

A battalion of my 1st tank division is heading for the area.

A friendly hand has been stretched towards the vikings. But I do still miss the viking answer to my question about what, Mr. Fraze, the viking leader, think is most important: The city Bornholm or the drawings on an old map?

Remember Mr. Fraze, that man who both started a war and signed a peace of paper, was Mr. Sophix. And he was indeed a capitalist under cover, plantet in England and probably supported by the SFU and the mayan/Canadian alliances just to make war and unrest between the irish, the english and the vikings. The PDRI seems to have attracted tourists from Russia as well as France to our beautiful beach resorts. It is to be hoped that both remember that a Visa is required before entry into the Worker's State. The stationing of many Brigades of Marines around Kabna Latna does nothing to reassure me of Mayan good faith. It would be regarded very positively on Dublin if these offensive Units were to be taken out of attack range.

Bird are looking for correspondance/maps from the time of the english/viking war and the time short after - something that can prove, if Mr. Fraze of the vikings has "the right" on his side - or to prove that he is just a joker.

PDRI Statement.

Be very careful, my Mayan friends, for you are very close to provoking another unfortunate incident which could adversely affect the life expectancy of the citizens of Chichen Itza. If your Sub is not removed this Turn it will be sunk and three more Mayan Cities will be flying the Flag of the PDRI.

My Canadian, French and Russian friends, the PDRI is becoming very clautrophobic due to the 'goodwill' visits of just so many Subs in our Waters. A Russian one was detected last Turn and we note that this Turn it has been joined by both French and Canadian ones. These Units are hard by the extreme South of PDRI and far from the legitimate areas of concern of the
SFU or Canada. Please let us not have any unsavoury episodes clouding the history of centuries of peace between our peoples. Also please note that during Irish stewardship of Uaxatum and Kabna Latna the channel between these Cities and the PDRI mainland has ceased to be regarded as 'International' Waters and is closed to 'all' traffic for the duration unless prior permission has been sought and granted. Nervousness caused by the prescence of a French Destroyer so close to Uaxatum has forced me to delay the journey home of 5
Divisions of weary Irish Marines as well as remaining at 'War Readiness'. Ireland is the poorest and weakest of all Nations and can ill-afford to spend what little she has upon weopons of war but when we sense further Superpower aggression there is no choice.

I caution all Capitalist Nations that the consequences of turning Irish nervousness into Irish paranoia would be 'severe' upon all parties involved.

Statement to the Irish Government:


Please accept our sincere apologies for having entered your territorial waters without prior notice. We found the offending sub, and the Captain of the vessel is being interrogated. Apparently, he inadvertently ran into an Irish Patrol fleet while on a training mission.

The purpose of the submarine in those waters was to escort French vessels that were on a peace keeping mission near the Irish-Mayan region of conflict. Now that the conflict is over, the Russian submarine will be withdrawn. Rest assured it is back on its way to patrol SFU waters.

You have no reason to be concerned Chairman Jon, as Russia respects its alliances with all governments, including yours. We will stay out of the business of our allies, as long as that "business" does not involve agression towards another ally.

We are pleased that the Mayans have chosen to withdraw their Sub and that both the Russians and Canadians have seem to have adopted the path of prudence. Concern is however growing as to the presence of at least 3 French Battleships plus a Sub and Destroyer in our territorial waters. When this is coupled with the adoption of a state of 'War Readiness' Irish nervousness creeps ever nearer to paranoia.

Next Turn an Irish Diplomat will arrive to re-establish full diplomatic relations with the Mayans. He will be welcomed! It is to be hoped that as per our previous request Mayan Troops will cease to hover menacingly along the roads to Kabna Latna. My dear friend Slamp, this is not the pathway to Peace that my people long to tread.

Though we realize that the Irish need their heavy industries, we cannot help but be concerned by the fact that all of the most polluting cities of the world are Irish. Surely this is suggestive of the carelessness with which the Irish are treating the fragile environment. We once again urge the world leaders to help us persuade the Irish to stop this destruction of our ecosystem. Russian scientists recently finished running a simulation of the World Ecosystem, and the results show that at the present rate there would be a major catastrophe in 50 years. However they also warn that pollution is increasing dramatically and the time left before such a disaster could be much shorter than 50.

Russian Statement:

We find the return of tensions between the Mayans and the Irish very disturbing. Although we are a military government, we believe peace must be ensured at all costs.

We want to warn the people of Ireland and Maya that a war would certainly mean a holocaust that will consume both your nations. There is no doubt that all the powers involved in this conflict are well armed with weapons of mass destruction, and most likely one of you will find yourselves in a position that necessitates the use of these awful weapons. the harm it will cause to your people and the planet as a whole is unfathomable. We pray that all those involved in this conflict think wisely before they take their next step.

As a peace loving nation we would like to help resolve this conflict between our two neighbors. We suggest that the Irish take a more tolerant stance of the Mayans by allowing a reasonably sized force to remain near the border in order to gaurd their homeland. Surely the Irish defense force cannot be threatened by a small Mayan security patrol.

In turn, we ask of the Mayans to help ease tensions by removing any unnecessary military units back to their cities and leaving only a skeleton gaurd to protect against tresspasses.

Although we once again wish to hold a neutral stance in this conflict we will monitor it closely. To set an example, Russia continues to hold its military status at peace time levels, this has been despite the fact that all our neighboring countries have increased military readiness to war time. We hope others will also see the voice of reason and lower the military readiness. Rest assured Mayans and Irish, as long as no SFU unit comes to harm, we will stay out of this 'business'. However, the nation that shows an effort to diffuse tensions will have our support.

To Chairman Jon of the Irish:
Although we consider you as our friends Chairman Jon, your allies, the English are a pestilence to us. They have trespassed on SFU land before, we think it prudent to remain vigilant against further incursions by the English. Rest assured the only reason they have not yet been punished is out of our friendship and respect for you. The Battleships that you speak of are not in English waters, but instead they patrol SFU waters to catch any intruding English ships red handed. This would also be a good time to state, that if any English vessel is caught in SFU waters it will be immediately sunk without any prior notice. I am sure that you would understand the legitimacy of my actions considering that you too saw it fit to treat tresspassing ships in the same way. But the bottom line is, that as long as the English behave, Russia will not harm them.
