I always wondred how the US pre-empted the name America. After all the entire western hemisphere is either North, South or Central America. That being said how is it that the US is known commonly as America. I'm simply happy known as the US.

What I meant about the money was that rather than each State in the USA having their own currency, the Euro is the same.
Not the concept of money itself. Just a common currency.

BTW, in the time of the Southern Confederacy one of the breakdowns, of many, was that each state started producing their own versions of money.
Like that would work real well.
