1. quake1(specifically quakeworld. i spent hundreds of hours playing online with this game. it also had so many great mods, like capture the flag, and team fortress. so many things this game brought to the fps genre, from rocket jumping, to bunny hopping.)
2. civ 1(the first is still my fav. the newer ones don't have better gameplay imo, just different gameplay.)
3. doom 2(you can't beat doom2 co-op on ultra violence or nightmare, especially with 4 people at a lan!)
4. ogre battle(i've beaten it like 5 times, what else is there to say?)
5. deus ex(powerful and a great story)
6. fallout 1(the opening alone is almost worth the admission price. "war never changes".)
7. mario cart(with 4 ppl you can play this game for endless hours)
8. europa universalis 2(just got it a few days ago, but it blew me away! if i'd have had it a few months ago it'd probably have took civ1's place, but i'm not sure if i'll stand the test of time yet so it's #8.).
9. quake 3(only reason this is better than quake 2 is because of a great mod called
promode.)
10. quake 2(railgun, and chaingun spawn rape!)
just a few observations... most people's favorite games are probably going to be the first of a genre they played(especially if that game was a really quality title like most of the games ppl have listed here). someone who's first fps was quake 3 probably cannot understand why i'd put quake 1 or doom2 above it. or can they?
