	Move NESs back to Civ3-Stories? Got spare money?

I know that they aren't really about civ3. However, that is there natural home and where they have always been until recently. Within just a few days of being moved here all of the NESs died. People think of them more as being in the Civ3-Stories section, and that forum is also visited more often than this one. Does anyone agree?Note: this is partially to get more people to see and join the upcoming sequel to cAHNES: 1811

I have notice that all the NES died when they were moved here. People who come here dont want to be in the NES and I dont really understand their games they do etheir.

One more argument: many of the stories in the civ3-stories forum have little to do with civ, some less than NESs do.

I don't know of any particulars of stories right now (i havent had time to read many recently), but i've read many many stories and i've seen plenty that have just as little to do with civ3 as the NESs do and a few that have less. Say, for example, cbraund's "Dangerous Games" series: it's about as unrealated to civ as NESs are.

oh, one more thing: they clutter up this forum, which has been only diplomacy for a long time, despite its name. The diplomacy players are genereally uninsterested in NESs and annoyed by the cluttering.

Your link is wrong civman the story you have cited is a sequel to a story he did some time ago that was related to civ3. I think you should wait to see how the story develops before you cast judgement.

I would like to point out that the nes's tend to clutter up the civ3 stories as well, would it not be possible to have a set up like civfanatics where the civ3 stories forum has several sub sections and the nes's could have their own sub section ?

The reason I feel the actual stories page is the wrong place is that unless your involved in an actual nes then you would not necessarily find it of interest to read, and it was sometimes hard to find the stories you wanted to read with all the nes activity that was going on.

I understand your frustration though as this place is really a little obscure for your stories and a sub section would probably help to revive them. Just my two cents worth sorry for barging in on your poll.

I agree with Chrisius, that's actually what I wanted to say also.

I think NES's should not be in the same forum as the rest of the stories, since they clutter the space up a lot, and bury the stories - supposedly the main focus of the forum - below numerous other threads. I, for one, don't like to read NES's and don't want to search among them for stories. But I also realize that people who participate in NES's probably don't like to read stories and are annoyed at having to search their threads out under the stories.

So, the best solution, I think, would be to create a separate forum under "Civilization 3" for Civ3 NES's: either as a subfolder of the stories forum, or as a separate one altogether.

They may clutter up the civ3 stories forum, but they are a clutterment that has existed there for over half a year and have become accepted as a part of the forum.
Either way, they should be moved from this forum. I might support a subforum, but IMO that would just be even more clutterment, because either it would be an entire subforum with no more than 2 or 3 threads in it at a time or there would end up being tons of NESs and it would be like cfc's (not to say cfc is worse it's jsut that i think most people, including myself, are confortable with just having a few at a time and being able to participate in all of them).

I was originally for the push to move the threads in the first place with Rasbelin, to get NES a proper home. However we were stuk with the dilemna we have now, and I must admit the previous workings if the NES forum is out of the question were much better.

1 on the stories forum

2 a sub section of the stories forum

3 a new forum on the civ 3 section

I know you have good relations with the sites moderators so surely you can sort this out.

Dude I don't agree with the argument that if a problem persists long enough that it should be accepted. I can see you are quite loyal to your little NES hobby and respect that, but I also have to agree with Chrisius and vovanism that stories and NES's mix like oil and water. It seems there are two distinct crowds: one likes NES's, the other likes stories. Since the 2 groups never read each other's material it is a bit odd that they share the same forum. You also should appreciate that the popularity of NES's has sky-rocketed recently and the 'cluttering' is increasing all the time.

I'm thinking of 2 solutions. One is create a new forum only for NES's. The increasing popularity should warrant this; however, I really don't know what's involved in creating a new forum. Or, leave the NES's here and put a sticky in the story forum to inform people of this new location.

Or how about moving the stories to the Banana forum? Oh no, what I am saying?

The nes shouldnt be here *points at stories and diplomacy fourm* they should have their own sub-fourm or something of that sort.

But really, they are stories, about civs, i think they woudl be fine if they stayed in the civ 3 stories forum.
They are much more civ-related than many stories, just think of metaliturtles stories.

Oh... and NES stories are staying here... This isn't a democracy

If the games are falling like a rock, maybe it's because there isn't enough interest. If somebody really wants to find it, it's real easy to check page two.

And the lack of interest is another reason why a seperate forum is not required at this time... So you might as well get used to coming here, because any new NES theads in the Civ III Stories forum will no longer be moved here... they will be deleted.
