This is all I have been able to find out about the voxians...
They seem to be very secretive (Does the word paranoid comes to your mind?) and when I asked about theyr team special capacity during an informal talk, their member said that being a small group and giving their leader a despotic power alowed them to take decisions very fast and without running risk of latter disaproval.i´m still trying to pinpoint the thread in wich they were born (if someone can aid on this one...) but it would be very positive to have an embassy stablished there, in order to take a peek at their main city, because even just a small look would probably be enough to reveal what they are up to. Anyway, they alos seem to be one of those ´´we´ll do everything it takes to win´´ teams. I shall research more on them soon.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Since I am ambassador to the Land of Lego, a land considered to be our civilised ally, should I be allowed to trade general location information with them?

I think that sharing this information is a step in the right direction. If our relationship is built quickly, I may even eventually be allowed observer status in their tribal meeting.

I'm PBEMing with Eli and Flash from Vox Controli at the moment. They seem to be the 2 most influent members of the team. We haven't met yet in this PBEM game, but I'll keep you up to date of their strategy as soon as possible. Instinctively, Flash looks like a warmonger but rather unexperimented. Eli seems to be more experimented, with a more balanced playstyle. But this is just my instinct
I'd say they are the weakest team, because they have only 6 members, and their system to let someone randomly play the game will prevent them from having a coherent policy through the game. But of course, we should not underestimate anyone.

Sharing information would indeed be very positive for our relationship with Lego. We have to give them tactical information, but we can possibly rely on them not attacking us, helping us against other teams, giving technology etc. We shouldn't be over-zealous with giving information, of course. So no vital information; but we can use some rhetoric to make the information we give them sound more vital...

I have no problem with exchanging location information with them, once we have a better picture of where we are in the world. I'd like us to contact their civ as soon as possible, and would have no problem coordinating our warriors to meet somewhere if we can figure out who is more north or east of the other, and if we're on the same continent, or if on islands, which islands.

I have contacted Lux Invicta (The Invincible Light), and also have reviewed their "creation" thread. I also lucked into a conversation last night, for a short time, with admiralPJ, their FAM and calc II, another member. I was advised that they will assign ambassadors soon.

My belief is that they are not clearly centered on onstyle of play. The theme Trip set the team up under is one of diversity, i.e. builders and warmongers were all welcome. Having said that, AdmiralPJ is clearly a warmonger. He boasted in their thread of his warring skills. Coupled with Trip, who also leans towards warmonger, albiet more cautious than others, I would expect that they would have leanings to that style.

On the other hand, in their discussions last night, they are clearly unsure of how it will be to play the game with human players, as we all are. They also seem to have concern over Glory of War (referring to them as mercenaries), and may be worried about the fact GW is loaded with donegeal, UnOrthOdOx, and UberKruX.

My conclusion is that they are looking to be forthright with teams like us, because of the need for allies should they come up against GW. They are not tied to a style of play, but they should be well equipped in strategy should we go to war with them down the road.

I did not get any idea of their location/environment nor did I divulge any, but will continue to warm up to Admiral, the ambassador assigned to us, and anyone else from their Civ; and report back as I have something.

Respectfully submitted to His Grace, Supreme Leader Togas, this 5th day of the new moon cycle, during the festival of water, 100 years since the year of Emergence.

I am in the process of reviewing this team (Gathering Stromboli).

They appear to be very dictitorial in organization, with tendencies primarily toward war followed by research. They do tend to think long term, and do hold grudges. They are practiced in acheaving short term objectives against teh AI, such as an Archer Rush, but are still devising ways to perfect such strategies in this environment, assuming it is possible to do so.

They play games internally among themselves to try different strategies, something we may consider doing. Anybody with any interest over these holidays in a couple of weeks can start a thread..... I probably will have time then and would find it interesting.

I will be posting a full report soon, going into specifics. Poly is slow now and it is hard to get research done.

Alas, Vox seems to be some kind of a warmonmonger answer to Gow, they seem to think of themselves as some kind of smarter warmonmongers... if this proves to be right then any kind of trust must be put aside when dealing to them, as smarter warmonmongering often means acting like a treacherous snake...
Also, I think that wothout that much people to overlook their actions, they may fall pray to subterfuges more easily, as for per example seeing the false trick in order to think ´´ah, they can´t trick us, this is what they want to do!´´ and then we do another think, stated in tha act nut more well hidden, kind of giving our future plans against them a false objective to be intercepted by them so that the real objective may pass unharmed.

I seem to be finding little out about the Arabians...mainly because I made an early...mistake. I hope to rectify it shortly, but they seem to be very quiet where ambassadors are concerned. They do not openly address any of them. They seem to be very secretive about their ways, then. I frankly do not trust them at all to remain faithful to anything, but I will attempt to begin private correspondence with their leader, Caliph Borc. I shall report as soon as possible on what I know.

Sir, I have one small piece of useful information to put forward concerning the Arabians, and their leader, who I am attempting to personally correspond with.

Their Caliph is definitely the one they call "Borc". There is no doubt about this.

Here is an IMPORTANT report concerning the thread in the main forum about Post Game Awards...

I noted Unorthodox's post in that thread contains a slip of information for GLORY OF WAR. He says that Glory of War wins scenic view award for it's starting location, saying that the team should be renamed Glory of Waves for starting on an island!!

[ooc] Back again. The thing ended earlier than I'd expected.

We know the name of the city from the F11 screen, as reported by none other than Togas himself. [/ooc]

Of course, here are some facts to consider.

Unorthodox has been noted in the Far East of China as a newspaperman, an editor of such works. What is a newspaper, however, other than a piece of propaganda? If such is the case, this could be merely some Chinese plot that he has cooked up to mislead us in our thoughts about his civilization's lands. I would not discredit this evidence, but would not be quick to accept it as the truth, either.

It's all propaganda. They posted that humorous fake start of being stuck on an island and some people actually started to wonder if it was true, so they're continuing the charade by naming their city Atlantis, etc, etc.

That is just a disinformation. If such a thing could happen I have no doubt that it would documented (and even fixed by some patch) by that time.

I think that Glowy of War is trying to making us believe that they are really dumb warriors, but they are as smart as any other.

Maybe they really started near an ocean, and therefore decided to rename their city Atlantis, but *afterwards* this city name gave them the idea of making this obviously fake starting position with the editor.

I'll say this now as a quick warning to people tempting to do so...

Be warned of the temptation to "go native". As the RP Team ambassador to a given other human civ, there will be a temptation for you to empathize with them and for this to color your advice to the rest of us. If you happen to be somewhat alike to them, this is partially inevitable (we can hope for ambassadors from other teams to ours to "go native" more often than with other teams ), but we should attempt to avoid it ourselves where possible.

Just a little reminder

I, Togas' most loyal and humble servant, shall never be tempted by this, rest assured. Indeed, of what I have seen in Arabia I am disgusted. They eat only poorly cooked meat, and they shun our pork. They feast on dates and figs, and they run about madly blowing into a strange device they call a hookah. They say that is is a form of smoking. It looks obscene. As for their religion, I was repulsed by how evily they practice it. They sit around in giant groups and slap their foreheads against the floors. I would never be won over by such madness.

Got spare money?

There are six other nations out there. Who we wind up next to will be the key factor in our diplomatic relationships, however, coming into contact with all of the other civs as soon as possible is preferred.

There has been some discussion about trading minimaps. I'm not opposed to this idea but there are many who feel this would be an "out of game" cheat, and since we are a Roleplay Civ that is dedicated to playing our history as we learn advances, we should not do this unless (of course) everyone else does.

That being said, there is nothing wrong with our people telling stories about our location so that we may meet other civs. Of course, this could really hurt us if someone wanted to come to our location to attack us.

Therefore, we need to determine who we want to come into contact with first, and work hard to get some cooperation as to meeting in the middle.

The following summary might help:
"Our civ is located just below the equator on a large landmass. The ocean is to the south-east of us."

Can anyone else add to this?
