	Vox Controli Misc. Thread Increase Your PM Length

I thought we could use thread to post or discuss items regarding team admin, or whatever, and that do not have anything to do with moves and strategy (moves thread) or foreign affairs (FA thread).

Actually - I started it because I didn't know where to post this question:

What do my post stats mean?

A:13 D: 99 M:99 HP:58

I'm pretty sure that it is not Attack, Defence, Movement, and Hit Points .....

Actually it is.

It's post count, posts per day, how long you're registered Apolyton and other stuff converted to Civ like form. I dont know exactly how, but I think it's somewhere in the FAQ.

yeah it's attack defesne value, movement and hit points

based on how long you have been registered, # of total posts, and posts per day or something like that.

OK folks - I need some help. I've got 156 posts to go to 500 and then I can lose the spearman guy avatar. I've got something picked out - but hey - ask Eli - this is going to be a challenge with me. I've got the cartoon saved as GIF image that I grabbed from a cartoon site. But now what do I do with it?

Help. Please. I could ask GhengisFarb or Aro who seem to be experts at this, but thought I would start here.

And now I'm down to 155 to go.

Ok, thanks Eli. That was my problem. I have the full size cartoon, but only want part of it. I will e-mail you both the full-size one, and the one with my attempt to cut out - yes - the dog. Hey c'mon - he has a helmet and a bow and arrow.

Diss - in the other thread you posted this:

What is a post count reduction? Is it another form of punishment around here? If so, what did you do to warrant a post count reduction - and waht does it mean in forum terms?

(I think we should rename this thread - something along the lines of : Questions by Beta. Or the Education of BetaHound - Dog School 101. )

The address can be seen in the address bar of your browser. Copy it (ctrl+c) and paste to the new reply form (ctrl+v).

as for post count reductions. I got one by admitting to a whole bunch of DL's. . I had around 10 of them at one time. This way over a year ago. About the time we used the new forum style.

Another one I got for spam and troll threads in the civ3 general forum

Yes I deserved them both. Just don't spam and cause trouble and you will be OK.

*checks post count*. I thought I might get another one. I posted two threads on a similar subject last night. One in Apolyton/community and the other in off-topic. The one in Apolyton/community was closed/locked. I haven't checked off-topic yet.

Next question - my 'my threads' page is only showing 11 threads. I'm sure it use to show more. The other forums, such as Vox or the PTW-demo forums, are showing the full 30. And if I go to page two of my threads I also get a much larger list. I modified the last date and took it way back - makes no difference. Any ideas how I get more threads showing?

And yet another question - at the top of the Vox or Ptw-demo forum, there is a site announcement - this one says Forum Reorganization. If I click on it, all I get is a screen with that one title bar, and the squiggly yellow v on the left. Clicking on it anywhere doesn't do anything. How do I see the announcement?

OK the forum announcement doesn't work for me. I just get a page that does not display any sort of announcement. It does have forum jump drop down menu.

In any case I also don't use the My Threads featuure. I have no idea how that works.

Has anyone here started a pbem game? And by start I mean being the administrator and setting it up.

I thought I would see how it is done. Page 40 on the manual explains what to do, but what screen are they talking about. If you load from the new game option, you get the regular 'you vs the AI' options.

If you load from Multiplayer - well you get the screen for setting up internet and other multiplayer games. I couldn't see any reference to pbem or the Add Human Player option mentioned on page 40.

Can someone advise please. Thanks.

Choose host game in the MP screen and choose a PBEM game in one of the menues there.

OK - so I am in Multi-player - it says Staging Window at the top, I check host game - and then there are two other drop down menus.

The first asks for turnless, simultaneous movement, or turn based. No pbem - but I figure this is turn based. Right?

The other refers to the type of game - classic, regicide, etc.

And you can name the game and enter a password as game administrator.

But I can't get into the player setup screens to do anything - like add myself - or other players.

In the main MP window press on "location" to change it to local. Then click host and you'll have "Play by Email" as an option.

did you set the administator up correctly? I couldn't figure out how to do it without playing player 1's turn. It should be easier to set up a game as an administrator without being player #1.

No - I didn't try that. I wasn't really setting up a game - just wanted to see how it was done. But Maybe I will walk through the whole process again.
