What's the worst genre of music ever?

I'd have to beat my own nationalistic drum here and say swedish Dansband music is by far the worst genre the world has ever known. An intriguing mixture of primaeval folk tunes, late-fifties rock 'n' roll, jazz and country, it's nowhere near as good as that potentially sounds,' cause it's fat jolly peasant novelty standards rather than Woddie Guthrie, Pat Boone rather than Elvis, Glen Miller rather than Louis Armstrong and Garth Brooks rather than Johnny Cash they take inspiration from. Basically imagine a modern, poppified Nashville country backing without the fiddles and other adornements (replaced by toned-down brass instruments and saxophones), set to the most simple, non-driving rhythm imaginable, working behind flat, lifeless standard-like sub-love songs performed by middle-aged men. *shudder*

For brits, imagine Cliff Richards deciding to sell himself to the british-country crowd by doing pop-produced Trad Jazz covers. Except much, much worse.

Finding decent RA samples of this vilest of forms of music is hellishly difficult, since the vast majority of fans are both illiterate and technophobic.

Ooh, a tough choice between German Schlaeger and post-war avant-garde classical (I mean the hardcore Darmstadt stuff, rather than border-line listenable stuff like Ligeti or Penderecki).

There are real pros behind these people, try to remember that, do you think it's easy to make pop? Some ways easier and some ways harder than any "really new" music.
Damn good thing for the teen fans that they do lip sync and also don't write their own music, it would be horrible.

I have to agree with you Albert that Punk Rock is usually pretty bad. I have a headache as it is, but even reading your description of that genre is making my head hurt more... Mass-produced Angst is all it is, no different from Mass-produced Pop.
