I don't know. I think ND first of all is going to protect its homeland, and only send the spares to Lego (if they send anything at all). Their best bet right now is to let the other 3 nations fight it out, while they build as crazy.

Those two deals sound about as good as we could hope for right now.

Full PM-box? Change here!

480*.2=96 gold

600-96=504 gold that we would have to return (maybe we should just round it off to 500g?)

Personally, I'd take agree to the tech deal straight off, and use that extra 100g as a bargaining tool. I reckon they will ask for about 50gpt for the lux, although from what i can see that is not really possible.

That's some creative math.

5760/6240 * 600 = 554
1152/1248 * 600 = 554

If ND is fine with 500, good. The same beaker:gold return is 554. I wouldn't think ND would mind too much as they're getting extra value from the tech due to receiving it first.

Aeson, that's not how they see it: the beaker to gold ratio is precisely 5 . The 600 gold is not meant to be a payment with the guarantee that we could use the same ratio later for the next tech. It is meant as a kind of deposit, which will be refunded when the other deal happens. Also, I think they realise that one of the main reasons why we want to have at least some money now is to complete our upgrades, and have a war-chest.

Don't complain. We get more gold my way.

5760/6240 = ((2^7)*(3^2)*5)/((2^5)*3*5*13) = (2^2*3)/13 = 12/13

600 - (1/13)*600 = 553.8461538, c. 554 gold

I gave the the price of the beakers in gold, you gave the percentage difference that we (would) have to give back. As you said, creative (and profitable)

Yah. I just don't think it's worth being slick (or rather giving another team a reason to perhaps view us that way) to gain another 50g.

Again, I don't agree with this. We did not intend to gain 50 g here, and I strongly doubt ND saw it like this. We proposed them a deal for 25% (the 20% I mentioned earlier was a mistake) beaker cost, which they did not object (so agreed to). But they proposed something else, in that they did not want to pay right now, but with a tech. As a gesture of their good will, they proposed the 600 gold deposit.

With 25%, we come at 1560 gold for computers, opposed to 1440 gold for rocketry. A difference of 120 gold... we only ask for 100 gold, so we're giving something to them, instead of asking for too much ourselves

I do admit that I kind of guessed at the exact price, and thought we needed to pay back 510 gold instead of the 480. I rounded to 500. But that doesn't really matter here, I think.

It would be good if the save came to us, so we had other things to focus our mental energy on
