BTW, I loaded from the SP screen after not getting anywhere on the multiplayer screen. We've been doing this without problems in several other games but I'm happy to learn how to do it right. Just didn't want to hold up the parade.

As vondrack says, there never have been problems, if you load it from the main (SP) menu from a newly started PTW.

I'm not that enthousiastic about someone else playing our turns, but if that's what everyone wants, I can live with it. Will he step in when we have delayed playing for a while, or when we are going to be away for a long time?

With this group, I would leave it up to the player to request that someone stand in for him. Much of the time, there is no big decision to make and it's helpful for all concerned to have a neutral party to keep the game rolling.

Problem: I just loaded the game from the main screen (not from the Multiplayer section, although I booted up PTW fresh), and it displayed the game as Regent. Does anyone know when this changed, if at all? I killed the program immediately, tried through MP, but there it doesn't allow you to see the difficulty (just 'Custom').

Should we be doing anything about this?

Also, our scores have all gone down to 46 (from 50). I just checked if the game was otherwise okay, and killed the program immediately.

It seems that we were at Emperor in 3850BC, but not in 3800BC.
