quote:
Greetings mav_son and Darekill,
We have recieved and reviewed the e-mail sent by Borc regarding RP's latest move in the jungle. We are concerned about this but we would like to recommend taking extreme precaution over this situatio as there are various things we feel you should know before you rush into a war.
First, a few turns before the game crash, RP approached us with a Mutual Protection Pact in the event that you attacked or threatened them. In order to maintain the illusion that we were just as afraid of an ND attack as they were, we accepted, however, we wisely changed some of the wording of the agreement to suit our needs, mainly in that there is a loophole in the agreement by which we are not forced to aid them in case of war. This loophole is that the treaty is not valid in case WE declare war first. Our idea was that when the time came for a war, we would simulate a fake war between us first, then shift into an alliance against RP. The benefits of this included that we now had a reason to move our units towards the jungle with the excuse that we were trying to outflank you, it also served to make RP believe that whatever ND did, we would ally with them against you.
Second, we are unprepared for an offensive war at this moment. We are currently building as many horsemen as possible so that we can upgrade them to Riders. We will obtain Chivalry in slightly over 10 turns. Sending our horsemen at this moment would only serve to undermine our ability to wage war more successfuly in just a few more turns.
Third, this is obviously a trick being played by RP to provoke a war BEFORE you (or us in case they suspect) get Chivalry, and thus your UU. We would honestly advise you to swallow your pride and hold off on a war until the time we get Chivalry upon which it will be offered exclusively to you and jointly we can attack RP when they are least prepared. Wars are won by those who pick not only the battleground, but the timing. We will not be so successful if we decide to play by RP's rules and go to war when THEY want to, rather we must be clever and wise in chosing the precise moment to strike, that time is when we get Chivalry.
We have discussed the situation with the team and have realized there are 2 options that The Glory of War can take with respect.
1) If you decide to go to war immediately, we can give you Feudalism next turn, and NOT sell it to any other team. That will leave ND, GoW and GS as sole possessors of Feudalism. Furthermore we can blackmail GS into NOT selling it to RP by threatening them with not selling them Chivalry. When we get Chivalry we will also offer it to you. The problem with this plan is that most, if not all the initial fighting will have to be done by ND as we would keep our horseman until we got Chivalry. Upon getting Chivalry we would offer all our military support in case the war isn't over by then. You should however be at a big advantage with Feudalism over them and the war would be much easier.
2) If you chose to wait, we will attack the moment we get Chivalry. This would be best in the sense that we would offer all our support in an active manner.
I would like to point out part 3 of our own treaty:
3. Neu Demogyptica and the Glory of War will declare war on the Roleplay team on the same turn. This turn is not yet decided, but it must be agreed to by both teams at least 20 turns beforehand or later if mutually agreed upon. .
We had agreed upon AT LEAST 20 turns warning before starting conflict. You must understand that we are not prepared to rush into a war immediately, and according to Borc, neither are you. If going to war is simply a matter of pride or revenge at RP's making a city in the jungle, you are simply falling for RP's trap. We must ignore and strike when we are ready. Anyway, please consider both options I have presented. We have every intention of allying with you to get rid of RP. But at the moment we can only offer to give you Feudalism and guarantee that we will not sell it to any other team. We would also like to enfazise that it is necessary that WE declare war first, as to void our treaty with RP. Therefore we would need at least a 2 turn advance warning on when you would declare war so that we can respond accordingly.
Furthermore, I would like to set up a chat between us since during our last one no ND member showed up. This weekend would be perfect, please tell us the time you would be available.
Anyway, we have a temporary chatroom at Undernet #GoW sometimes me or Panzer32 are there but we would rather set a time and day for an "official" chat.
Once again, greetings from GoW to you and your teammates, and we hope for a nice long chat with you soon,
