well, what body type do you have? this is very important. Also, hair style is going to depend a lot on your facial structure, but try to stay away from the grungy longer, unkempt look.

and how much money do you have to spend?

Hair: short to mid length is in right now. Get your hair textured, and go for the slightly messed up look.

Shoes: Get a nice pair of black, squared toed, leather soled shoes. Kenneth Cole has some great ones out right now for reasonable prices.

Pants: If you are relatively thin, go for some Armani exchange jeans. get the ones with the washed look, low rise, straight leg. "dirty washed" are good too.

With a couple pair of jeans, a pair of straight legged non-pleated black slacks, and a light colored pair of khakis (also straight leg, non-pleat), you should be set.

Shirts: Long sleeve button up shirts all the way. again, Armani Exchange is great for these, and they fit well.

stay away from hats, unless it is a nice beanie. Also, don't wear anything baggy. Girls like to see clothes that actually fit.

maybe pants that fit on you Kaak but I do like the baggy look to some extent.

I like the bad boy James Dean look,
Tee shirt' blue jeans...

PH is right.. clothes do not make the man!

Then again I am more interested in personality rather than looks but it never hurts for a great attitude to be wrapped up nicely!

Kaak, said an important thing.

If you have a nice body you can afford to wear more things and all those that you do wear (given they are not abominations or horrible bad colour combination) will look even better on you.

Nobody wears that **** no more... avoid beanies and stocking caps and all that ****.

Doubt it... tighter clothes is usually associated with being sweet as in gay.

And as Azazel is Jewish I assume, any length of hair would be a bad idea cause that **** will probably get nappy. Stick with real short hair... what my barber described as a buzz cut but with the colour know what I mean? Get the side-burns almost none existant and squared off. have a little fade. Then again, my barber does primarily hair for black males so I don't know if his ideas would make sense for you.

Also with facial hair... don't grow some nut ass big beard looking like bin laden. Don't grow anything more than a goatee i guess

thanks

I tend to wear baggier clothes as well, tends to be more comfortable, especially with my current figure. But I suppose it comes down to a thing of identification - I don't identify myself with the people who dress like you Kaak, no disrespect.

provost:

I agree... armani... never see boys rocking that. we too poor for that ****.

And I guess baggy clothes do kind of hide someone's body. a lot of times, you never know if someone is real skinny, moderately fat, or average if they wearing some baggy ****.

(btw, amazing social knowledge comes out of this thread )

Albert: what is nappy?
Provost: I hope you don't go to job interviews like that as well.

the bear issue. the only facial hair I usually grow is on my chin. Sometimes I'll wear a goatee, and sometimes, I'll wear a short chin beard, an a small spot beneath the lower lip. Nothing like UBL, that's for sure.

Albert: tighter clothes DO get associated with gay people, but this has more to do with the myth that gay people are better looking than straight people. not-too-tight clothes can be great at times, and achieve the needed affect.

so, as a tall man with dark hair, and grey-blue eyes. what do you think I should wear? Dress me!

specific questions:
-----------------------
*I have bought myself a long black coat. I always wanted one, and finally, I have it. What trousers, shorts and shoes go together with this one?

*Also: neck-sweathers. are they 'ok' to wear? are the "hot", or are they 'NOT!'?

*Hairstyles: what's the best hairstyles.

*last but not least : Facial hair. what. when. and how much.

Advices from knowledgable apolytoners would be very much apperciated

Yeah, I mean, Armani and Versace, etc, etc, it just seems excessive. I find that people who buy that **** are trying to cover up their insecurity by spending so much on clothes. And I remember rich kids at Oxford who used to dress head to toe in designer labels. But it didn't alter the fact that they looked completely sh*t.

And watch out with that chin hair ****... a lot of people here associate that *(getting banned by MtG for posting this sort of crap)*

albert, then its fine too i guess. good anatomy will give you a better look with whatever clothes, muscles or not. (assuming you dont have a fat belly or anything)

gays have a rep of dressing better than not gays and it maybe holds water. they generally are more vain and self absorbed than straight men i think.

but it is also style. if you dont have it i dont think being gay will help you in getting it

Yes Kaak definitly knows how to dress, but like I said the clothes that look good on a body like his may not look good on you. Be comfortable but not sloppy.

A big guy like you can get away with a lot...

from a woman's point of view i prefer men that look well kept..whether the clothes are more fitting or hang loose..just be sure there are no stains or wrinkles on anything you wear and you should do fine!

* I imagine I am not much help...sorry*

I buy labels some times. I like them because they're usually more comfortable, and durable, than the same non-label clothes. But labels, under no conditions, do garantee you look well.

But buying cheap is really tempting. who needs labels when you can get a a fully clothed for 20$ and fully dressed for 40$?

panag: I've already been issued standard military uniform. GREAT BOOTS, btw.

quote:

What about people like me who got a six pack but got skinny ass arms and chest and weigh only 150 pounds though they 6 foot 1? I dont got a nice body but i got a six pack

gotta fill the disadvantages.

Another very important detail: season. winter fashions completely differ from summer fashions (du-h! ) and therefor this takes two different approaches. (and remember, the budget is thin.. for all of us )
