my reccomendations
1 . if you are colored blind (like me) try to get clothes that all work together
2 . try not to wear cloths inside out (it is usually somewhat embarrasing, especially if you had been wearing them inside out for hours)
3 . short hair is easier to have looking nice than long hair
4 . throw away any pants that get a hole in the crotch, you might not tihnk it is a big deal, but sometimes (especially if you are wearing boxers) 'it' can snaek out (And the people arround you will not appreciate that)
those are the 4 biggest ones from my expereince
of course, IA m not very fashionable, so yuu might want to ignore them

I've realized that I need a new wardrobe: school is over, this is the beginning of the real-life. you can't get too far with sweat-shirts, and a pair of jeans, can you? Also, I want to look good and successfull.
so, as a tall man with dark hair, and grey-blue eyes. what do you think I should wear? Dress me!
specific questions:
-----------------------
*I have bought myself a long black coat. I always wanted one, and finally, I have it. What trousers, shorts and shoes go together with this one? |
Long black coat? Like a trenchcoat?

Turtlenecks? It depends.
They look okay on some people, they suck on others (me). They also serve as a big rainbow flag.

The current trendy things are the stylized chaos type look.
quote: *last but not least : Facial hair. what. when. and how much. |
None. Never.

Just wear what's comfortable and doesn't look too lame. You want to wear clothing that "brings out" your best features. If you've got big, broad shoulders, wear some shirts (some kind of sweater maybe?) that kinda emphasizes that.
If you've got nice blue eyes, wear colors that bring out the eyes.
You know, that kind of stuff.

Why don't you, for once, try to suppress your redneck urges and just tell him to stop cussing rather than "cut the ebonics BAMF act". Christ. Ebonics doesn't equal swearing. You ought to do better to mask your racist undertones a little better.
And what rock do you live under anyways?
And please refrain from one-liners and witty generalizations in your response.
Provost:
I wasn't suggesting that he give up his identity by going to the GAP, just that if he wants to look good ("good" in the fashionable way as was implied by his question) a place like that would make his life easier.

MtG deleted what I said earlier but here in Philly, boys with that little chin hair is said to engage in a certain sexual activity with women (something that involves a man's mouth). I dont know why there's that connection but thats what people say.

Here's how to be a fashion success...
1) Get a crewcut. They're easy to manage, and you can do it yourself, so they're also the cheapest haircut.
2) Buy (or renovate) a coupla pairs of jeans and a coupla pairs of khakis.
3) Buy (or renovate) several t-shirts and several short-sleeved casual button-up shirts.
4) Mix-and-match your jeans/khakis and t-shirts/buttoned-shirts as most appropriate. E.g., if you're mowing the lawn, then wear jeans and a t-shirt. If you're going to the opera, then wear khakis and a buttoned-shirt.
You won't really need to worry about anything clashing, since your shirts are the only article of clothing that will have any kind of pattern whatoever on them.
Don't buy v-neck t-shirts, unless you happen to have a hairless chest. Stick to crew-neck.
The only remaning question is whether you should get black sneakers or white sneakers. Black last longer (since the grime doesn't show up on them as much), but white don't work very well if you have black pants (unless you also invest in black socks, but no thank you, one color of hosiery is all that I require). I went with the black sneakers since I don't own any black pants or black socks, but YMMV.
