	Consul Nomination Thread Get a bigger avatar today!

Enough with the speculation. Our Constitution is affirmed, we all agree on a 3 leader system. It's time to pick those leaders.

Let's not go nominating everyone under the sun and then trying to talk them into serving. If you want to talk someone into serving, send them a PM. Let's use this thread for individuals who are willing to publicly state that they want the job. And perhaps explain why they should get it (if it's not already obvious).

Then in a few days we can start up an election poll with all the candidates. Pick your top 3. Top 3 guys win. They then choose a President from amongst themselves.

I hereby confirm I am willing and wishing to serve as one of the Consuls. My post over in the Consul Speculation thread may be considered kind of my campaign statement... it says how I would be doing things, if elected.

Which might just work out, though. MrWIA can do it, but it seems he needs a few weeks before he'll have enough time (or at least that's what he said last...).

If notyoueither, Ninot, and Vondrack all run, I have no reason to run myself.

If any of them drop and MrWIA can't do it just yet, I'll run.

The nominations and seconding are fine and all ... but what I need is for the candidates themselves to CONFIRM their desire to be a Consul. Once they have confirmed, I will edit the first post.

ADDED: Please post your agreement to be a candidate here in this thread. I will, however, go through the other threads and find out who has accepted to-date and update the list in the first post.

Also, we need a deadline for elections. Betahound, please give us a deadline by when we need to have a President. We should have our Consuls finalized a few days before that so they can choose who will serve as President.

We need to start this ASAP if the game is supposed to start as soon as next Tuesday.

Togas and Nimitz... if the two of you are willing and able to collect and count votes, that would be good.

Pikesfan and myself can provide assistance with the the counting of the voting method if you require it.

Togas, if you would do the honors (as in the SPDG) of starting a thread officially announcing the voting and the candidates, we can get this ball rolling.

The poll to replace a consul takes 48 hours, so I assume a vote to establish a consul would be the same.

That should be, if we're on the ball, enough time to have our Consuls in place by the time the game starts (though not necessarily their ministers... but don't know if they need them on the first turn).

Let's move on this!

I hope we get one more for 5. I guess I like the idea of having more people to vote for. 4 is just too close to an acclamation for my comfort if we’re electing three. It would be different if we were electing two. Or maybe I like prime numbers of candidates So somebody run just for the sake of running. Or some 3 bodies run to give us the next prime number of 7

No, nye. The pity is that if I could have made my way here on time I would have saved that result and confirmed my nomination for Consulship. Thanks to those who thought of me and sorry for being too late.

As I was commenting to several other people, if any of the Consuls slip up and we don't like them, you are available to be their replacement

Actually, I was honestly thinking about running for Consul as the "placeholder" for you (since my availability may not last and it wasn't clear when your's would start!), but decided against it because there were already enough candidates.

Don't worry.... you may yet find a way to become a Consul in the future
