I have been absent for some days since I am preparing for the Cebit but this thread is so much fun . I will start with commenting this post as I just started reading the thread.

Well, a few years ago I read in a Greek newspaper that this is just a falacy. A lot more crimes were attributed to "immigrants" than anybody could prove. As for raw numbers Greeks had commited far more crimes than foreigners! I must say though that in our village we started locking doors after the "invasion" of Albanians.

Now had the - as always- incompenetent Greek gov't taken the extra step to legalize/register them from the beginning there would have been as many problems!

You would lose that war and you know it. As it is, Greece buys more weapons than it's economy can support. If you continue like this you will go bancrupt.

We've been bancrupt since day one! SO it wouldn't make much of a difference!

Loose, NO!!! A lot of the Greeks believe that they count for more than ten Turks!!

Not to mentin Turkey has 500 000 soldiers that could parade in Athens within a week of your war.

Parthenon still standing, they will finish the job

Well, the biggest problem would be that all our politicians wouldn't be able to builld villas any longer!

That wont be as easy because Turks have a lot to fear from their eastern borders.

I mean, you can learn a lot from Apolyton, about other cultures and stuff

Spot on, although that second point you've made is common to all countries Western or Eastern, Rich or Poor, etc.

What's most welcoming is EU's money. We were bashing on all the EU countries but we sure loved their dough!

What do you expect from a country that voted as PM one that served in the US army and when he came back he becaming popular by wanting the US Bases out of the country!?!

Well for one thiing it has a kathartctic effect on you if you leave the past behind you. On the other side with that kind of thinking we should all be at war with eachother. Worse, we should be killing eachother in our own countries as I've lost ancestors in the civil war that ensued after WWII. Oh yes a little OT note on this: We seem to like fighting eachother when all others went go into peace gear!!!! This is a very silly argument and very dangerous!

Now that is what the Turks have a problem with too. They tend to forget their atrocities, which were horrendous, worse than the Nanking incident in China right up ther with the Nazis. But like the Japs they tend to have a hazy memory when it comes to taking responsibility for their -beyond description- horrendous actions.

You see Greeks talk tough, then join the "right" side of a conflict and when everybody else moves on they stay behind either whinning about it or killing eachother. BUt they have never commited atrocities the way some others have.

Anyway time to move on....

So long...

Sweet Jebus, between Paitkis, G(R)EEK and Palaiologos, I wish I weren't an atheist so I could get down on my knees and thank God I wasn't born Greek. The sheer, blinkered hatred spewed by those three is enough to make me want to take a shower to get the filth off. How can any of you face the day with hearts filled with so much bitter bile? Doesn't it weigh down your souls? Don't any of you have the slightest idea how pathetic and sad you all seem?
