	Consul Election Thread Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

As this game will begin on Sunday, February 16th .... 3 days from now, we have little time to do this.

Elections for Consuls are hereby open. 48 hours from now, we will close them and count the votes.

Please send a PM to myself AND to Nimitz. YOU MUST VOTE THE SAME IN BOTH PMS. If there are any variations in your vote it will discarded.

The official Consul Candidates are:

In order to make things fair, you may write in anyone, so that late candidates can be added if necessary.

Any last minute candidates should post their candidacy in this thread

Please choose between 1-3 candidates and rank them in order. The most important part is the ranking part. If your #1 makes it, you get some say in #2 & #3.

You do not have to vote for 3, though. You may choose, if you wish, to support only 1.

Elections will close at 11pm EST on Saturday Night.

Nimitz and I will have results out to you within a few hours after the close.

It will be up to the Consuls to choose amongst themselves who is our President.

Please post questions in this thread and post last minute write-ins as well.

I will be adopting a conservative stance, should I be elected. My focus will be defense, security and maximum usage of land.

I was never fond of big speeches. So there ya go.

I have quite a bit of experience with PTW MP. I usually give better than I get.

In SP I win consistently on Emperor against the AI.

My activities on the C3DG court and with Gathering Storm tend to lean towards consensus building and listening to all points of view. That is the way I would proceed with this game. At the same time, I am not afraid to call a spade a spade if I feel strongly about an issue.

That's about all I can think of to say at this point. Does anyone have any questions?

My game opionion will be dependant mostly on the situation our team is in.

The only thing I can promiss is that I will try to keep the military at a strong stance, so that it may always be ready, no matter the situation.

As for my domestic goals, I will try to always follow the consensus, but if I think my opinion is of better worth at that time, I will try to impress it upon everyone.

My plans would be much like what nye stated - listening to various opinions, considering various viewpoints, hopefully choosing the best plan proposed, and trying to reach consensus on our plans, really enforcing any powers given to the Consuls only when unavoidable. I understand this is supposed to be a team game, so there will be little room for pushing my own plans ahead... unless I am able to convince others that those plans are good.

Getting my ass still kicked on Monarch sometimes, I feel a little bit unworthy in the company of the most famous Poly SP strategists, so I'd mostly focus on organizing things and making the information available to everybody - at least to the extent I showed in one of the earlier threads (here), hopefully even more.

I believe that if we get ourselves well organized and using every member of the team in the field he excels in, we shall do very well and have lots of fun.

You may vote for your top 3 choices, in order, to serve as Consul. You are not required to pick 3. You have until 11pm EST to cast your vote.

Sorry sorry sorry!!!

I stated I wanted very much to be involved in this from the start, and then have been out of it the last few days. I have got my copy of PtW working and am able to play savegames - hence I could have confirmed my nomination as a Consul candidate. Unfortunately, I find I have done what I normally do in every Demo game and completely missed the nominations AND elections.

So thanks to all who thought of me for Consulship - your confidence will not be soon forgotten. I hate missing the boat - it seems not only am I on a completely different timezone, but my "on" DATES are completely out of sync with important events on Poly as well.

Wish me better luck next time.
