The reason I posted mine, is to not be influenced by the other votes. For others to vote 'strategically just by knowing mine, is going to be of limited use .

I don't mind redoing them, but then they will be 1.21 ones (just use a crack with the US patch on a euro instalment and you should be fine.

How do I play them at Monarch then? As I say the files I received are Cheiftan.

I don't mind playing cheiftan level if no-one else minds, but I don't want to be installing crack patches for European versions

That's the problem, unless I go through that uninstall routine, the dificulty level will drop.

The only other option would be for me to upgrade (and use a crack) to 1.21 and to set-up the games again (I wouldn't mind doing so).
The problem here is that everyone will have to go to 1.21 in order to be able to play...

You don't need to do it four times.

All you need to do is uninstall both Civ3 and PTW once, reinstall, upgrade to 1.04, then play the 4 games, then upgrade to 1.14.

Its a pain, but I'd prefer to play on a level harder than cheiftan.

Surely you mean 1.14, right? That's the most recent Euro PTW patch - I can't imagine why we'd want to use an older version.

There isn't a 1.04 euro patch AFAIK, they went straight to 1.14. There was a 1.04 patch for the US version.

It should not be a problem to set the game up with 1.14 (either version), the problem is that euro versions can't be used to play a turn once it has been on a US 1.21 machine.

The problem comes in that all games default to Chieftan. miccofl told me about the workaround using an older version to set up games. If it requires an American version to setup I can't be bothered with trying to find someone to set up for games.

I say we just play with the four games doing the rounds that alva created and resign oursleves to playing chieftan.

Well, some of the PBEM games I am in are at Regent - but I didn't set them up so don't know precisely how it was done.

I am not too bothered about playing at Chieftain, it is the same for all of us and there are no AI's to exploit.

Yes, 1.14.

Having said that I think that all my PBEM's possibly come up as Regent. I will have a careful look at the happy/unhappy citizens in the various games since that is about the only way to tell. Unfortunately most are still at an early stage so I don't have many cities over size 3 and I may not be able to tell.

Whatever the difficulty level is we will just have to play it now.

I did set some up, and I sent them to BC. I don't think he's played them yet. There doesn't seem much point now.

It looks like we're sticking with your original ones. If the saves I sent Cerberus are at Regent and not Chieftain then we should stick with them.
