its not going to die . Just in the begning of games, you need many many updates because of the expansion still going on.
*********************
The huge axe landed onto the stone table. It was the symbol of many defeated Semerian battles to expand in the north.
High Lord Jason was very dismayed that he damn Gaulish barbarians continue to hault Semerians expansion to the north. They were begining to become very unpleasant to hear about. And now these axes certainly will pose a threat to the future of Semeria.
He knew, though, the way to beat them. Golden Archers would be the men deployed to expand territory in the north, for they are long range fighters, which spells defeat to melee combatants. Only a handful of swordsmen will be put to use in the north.
The Golden Archers will fortify among one of the many rolling hills in Gaul, before a battle. They will from there kill the Gaulish axemen before they even get a chance to attack the Semerians.
Brilliant, Jason thought, just brilliant.
Now, what to do about the stupid admiral who ordered the attack on the Irish navy. The Semerians were there as explorers, not fighters. We are not one to get involved in a foriegn war when we ourselves have enough problems. He will definetly have the Admiral jailed.
However, the Druids looked very much like a good friend. A messenger was soon dispatched.
To The Druids
From Semeria
Hail, friends. We would like to open up friendly communications with your noble people, and will leave some of our navy to aid you against the Irish.
To The Polish
From Semeria
We congratulate you on your recent winnings against the Prussian Tuetons (right?).
To Greece
From Semeria
We wish for more contacts with other people. If you could please put us in touch with anyone else you know, we may let you have contact with a northern neighbor of ours.
ORDERS
Continue to expand army
Use only Golden Archers in the Northern Gaulish people. Expand. This is to be 1/2 of my army.
The other 1/2 will be fortified on the Spanish border, and ordered to not expand, just hold defensive position.
1/4 navy is to be ordered to continue to explore north (Vikings)
1/4 is to help the Druid navy in whatever they need
1/2 is to protect Semerian lands.
Poor money into research for the Blacksmiths to find a use for iron.

Well, a two-pronged attack eh SKILORD?
(simulated SKILORD thought: Hmmm, Metaliturtle is extremely creative and funny, giving him a distinct advantage over the other players, let's get a posse of natives to attack him.)
(simulated Metaliturtle thought: Skilord doesn't want me to dominate North, Central, and quite possibly South, America, ok, I'll thwart him on a different continent at a date to be determined later)

Somewhere in western Crete…
The blasts from the war horn startled Gor. His encampment had defeated the most recent rival clan only a week ago, so this was quite unexpected. But he stood up, grabbed his war pack and started running. The horn blasts indicated that the threat was coming from the north. Despite the disruption to his daily activities, Gor was somewhat pleased that there was some enemy to counter. There was always the opportunity for looting the defeated force, and bashing heads was just plain fun. He saw other warriors from his encampment and they quickly joined up on a hilltop. From there, they could see the force that had triggered the alert. It was a force of several hundred, at least twice as many as the encampment contained, and as far as Gor could see, they were all regularly outfitted, which was something he had never seen before. They were formed in long, shallow, ranks, with the foremost having only small shields and some strange device hanging at each one’s side, Gor couldn’t ascertain what. But he did recognize the spearmen that were standing in the back ranks and the archers on the flanks. At the sight of this formidable array, Gor’s tiny inherent tactical sense began to warn him that perhaps fighting these people wasn’t such a good idea. He quickly dismissed that in favor of the greed inspired by looking upon those (for a barbarian) beautifully crafted and exquisite weapons. After a fair amount of yelling and gesticulation, Gor and his comrades descended towards the enemy in a frenzied rage…
The captain of the Greek detachment surveyed the scene of the battle. After the barbarians has come down from the hill, all three groups, the slingmen, the archers, and the short-spear men, had begun advaning to meet them. The Greeks, had, of course slaughtered them. Of course, these disorganized barbarians could have been defeated by any reasonably trained and equipped force, but the skirmish admirably showed the typical fighting procedure of the new type of Greek detachment nonetheless. After bombarding the enemy, the archers fell back to be protected by the spearmen, and the slingmen went forward to do the bulk of the fighting. First, at medium range, they attacked the barbarians with rocks, bits of metal, and various other debris in a general barrage with the slings. Then they put their weights in their sling pockets, tied them off, and commenced to melee. Between the slings-turned-maces and the small-shields, they thoroughly thrashed the barbarians. They had been completely broken and routed by the time the short-spear men arrived to finish up. The captain was quite pleased with his forces performance. But now it was time to move out and continue with their assignment. Before the settlers and workers could come in and begin developing this backward place, a path had to be cleared for them through the indiginies that refused to be incorporated. Greek civilization was coming to the Aegean.
The council had come to a consensus. It was time to turn this Egyptian religious influence into an advantage. They foresaw a subtle but widespread religious system, capped by a large central oracle, similar to the local village ones, but on a much grander scale. And secretly under secular influence. But the commoners didn’t need to know about that.
Greece to Semeria:
Sure, we’ll introduce you to anyone we know of that you don’t. Will you do the same for us? And be sure to inform your traders they should use our ports, they have the best accommodations and most favorable markets in the mediterranean.
Summary:
-Colonize/Subjugate Aegean
-Begin work on Oracle and temple system.
-Rebuild navy to medium and expand trade fleet, harbors, and road/transport system.
UU: Hoplite conglomerate: composed of slingmen/mace carriers, archers, and short-spear men.

The Keshiks of the Mongol Horde launches a major offensive into the land of Choybalsan. Setting aflame many villages, and slaughtering the men. A few villages remained unharmed and allowed to become a part of the new Mongol Empire.
=========
"Sir, the Mongols are coming!"
"How many!" said the General of one of the Choybalsan's armies.
"Five hundred, General." said the scout.
"Ha!. Is that all?! Mount your horses men! We have Mongols to kill!" He gathered his horsemen quickly but with quite disorganization. His army numbered 1,500, 2/3 of which were on horseback. The General grabbed his spear and pointed forward as he began galloping at full trot towards the Mongols.
They raced forward and came upon the small Mongol force on a plain. The Mongols showered a volley of arrows upon the Choybalsan troops. Than a hundred of the Mongols raced forward and threw a volley of bronze spears, infuriating the General even more.
The Choybalsan General than ordered a charge. The Mongol force than retreated after the first few engagements. The Choybalsan General ordered the army to pursue with all its might, he wanted the glory of destroying this Mongol force now that he had a chance. And to bring home to his King the heads of five hundred Mongol scum.
The Choybalsan army pursued at full speed across the plains, a hundred yards behind the Mongol horsemen.
The ran into a small forested area, then after that they raced down into a valley after their foe. They raced forward still across the valley, nearing the Mongol horsemen.
Then at the center of the valley, the Mongol's halted and turned.
The Choybalsan General ordered a halt. A hundred or so yards away the five hundred Mongol horsemen stood in ranks, facing them. All was quiet and still after that race.
Then, out of the thin air, erupted war cries from all around and the clashing of metal.
The Choybalsan General looked at the brim of the valley bowl and soon Mongol horsemen emerged from the forests. All around they numbered hundreds upon hundreds...thousands even. Crying out their war cries.
Than in unison they lifted their bows and sent them off whistling in the air, raining death down upon their enemy.
Then soon, they all galloped at full trot down the valley slopes, leaving dust trails behind them. The five hundred Mongol Keshiks whom lured the Choybalsan army their, now reinforce with five hundred more, charged against the Choybalsans.
The Choybalsan were routed and were soon slaughtered. No survivors.
===========

OOC: It's Amelaria, not Almeria. And what's so nutty about having a civil war?
Makuus agreed to add a twelth member, a representative of the people, to the Council.
Makuus died shortly after the end of the civil war. He had a 7-month-old son, Makuus II, who became King. However, in reality, the King's grandmother, Yinea Meia Amelaria, who had influenced Makuus I greatly in his decisionss, ruled. She lived a long time, and when Makuus II become old enough to rule she allowed him to rule, but continued to be the power behind the throne. Makuus I's reforms have been carried out. The aristocrats have lost much of their power. Now, a new plutocracy of merchants is emerging, as Amelaria has begun to change its econoic focus from agriculture to trade.
Some leading merchants in Amelaria are learning Phoenician, and with the unofficial support of the King and Yinea, are trying to establish permanent contact and trade with Phoenicia.
Orders: Try to improve diplomatic relations with neighbors and expand through royal marriages. Trade with Phoenicia. Try to establish permanent contact and diplomatic relations with Phoenicia.
