HI BF. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. Unfortunatley we do not have chivalry. And to be honest it is not clear when we will get it. I suspect it may not be for 20 turns - and then only if we have something worth trading for it by then

I wish we could help out in this regards, but you have to appreciate we are strapped right now. We will soon be down to one city - with a large civilian and small military force to maintain - so cash is a big issue for us.

NW wrote about re-negotiating the engineering deal. We will see what we can do - but no promises.

I sense that tensions are rising - especially if the length of turns is any indication. We wish our friends to the south all the best.

Agreed about chivalry.

As for the luxuries RP wants to send us, they will not do any good for a while. We need to get a harbor and our pop needs to grow before happiness is an issue. As for the gold, we might be able to get by without it for a while if we use anarchy to cover all the turns between giving all the cities to GS until we get the first set of cities settled. I will have to think about it.

I have replied to RP, saying we want to stick to the original deal - and agreeing to religious conversion.

This was my response - I am trying to keep them on-side long enough to get them to finalize the engineering deal.

I sensed some urgency in your note - so I have been busy running between the accounting office and temporary accomodation that houses or clergy. I have good news and bad news.

First the good - the clergy - in fact the entire Voxian population, is looking for spiritual anchors to ground them during a period of upheaval as we are currently experiencing. Therefore - we would like to join the Spansih church. There may be some slight modifications to some of the processes required to reconcile our cultural basis with the Catholic Church, but I am sure we can work these out.

Any thoughts on how we convert an entire population - and when and where we do it. Our entire population is on the move right now, and very soon we will only have one city - so logistics may be difficult. But I am sure we can work it out.

Now - the bad news from accounting. As you can see from above - we are into a dire period economically. As our cities have been converted into workers and settlers, and we are still maintaining a nominal military force, our cash flow has been wretched. We have had to scrape together funds to stay afloat - and will need to for the next number of turns. The gold we are to receive for engineering has been built into our cash flow projections, and is critical to prevent us from losing units. We would very much like - in fact - it is a bit of a necessity- to stick to the original deal. If a few turns in we think we are in OK shape - then we may able to revisit the deal.

I'm sorry for this. We would like to help. But we do have issues of our own right now. BTW - we are moving galleys over the north shore of GoW, so if there is any information you would like us to relay in that regard, please let us know. That we can and are willing to do.

OK - as per the other thread - I got talking to RP last night. We struck a deal for engineering - as long as they stay quiet about where they got it from. Here is the deal.

If you are on side - can someone please get back to Togas and confirm the deal - and the secrecy required - and send them engineering next turn.

Now - I also committed to talkiing to both GS and Lego about helping RP. That can wait.

RP wants us to invade the GoW island off the west coast of Bob. I said we could not do that right now - given our circumstances - but could visit the possibility down the road.

AND - GET THIS - RP say they have proof that GoW was actively working with GS during the latter stages of the war. Now - I said we need proof. They say they have it. I said OK - produce it. They said they will. So - can someone also caontact Arnelos or E_T regarding the info and proof. It may be helpful to us.

In my view - we have little or no indebtedness to any of the Bobian civs. So lets just try to make the most of this war - given our situation - and as I feel some of the Bobians did with us.

Probably a good idea to keep the lines open. But unless they do gift us the money they had originally said they would (assuming they don't get kicked out of the game by GoW and ND), then I wouldn't trust their word too much. They've already essentially broken two deals with us in the short time I've been a member of Vox.

Ah, BTW, the Pope declared a crusade against the GoWians and the ND heathens... (calm down, you won´t be forced into war with anyone... just perhaps a little help, eh? )

From times to times (when your cahracter dies, I dunno how you foreigners fo this ) you must gather teh 3 bishops of Vox Controlli to choose amongst themselves the next Archbishop.
And when the Pope dies, all the archbishops and cardinals shall gather to choose the new one.
Apart form that, all your team has to do is to vote and obey the pope´s Councils, mandates and laws, and you guys are encouraged to suggest things to the Pope via messages (Pms...). Might I add that this Pope is specially very open to sugestions and new ideas (not that the old one was not) and few things would make him happier than a Pm regarding church matters... hints , ideas of cool things, sugestions, complains, asking of inquisitional trials...

I'd like to set up a chat time with you for some point in the near future. In the event we make it through the next few turns (which is looking a bit more likely with the GoW rider stack we just wiped out, though only a bit more likely) and we succeed at some other initiatives in the works, it may be possible to continue discussions with Vox Controli where I left them off some time ago.

I have been in discussions with multiple teams about granting Vox Controli a significant part of Bob. I'm sure you'll be interested in that, but it probably wouldn't be right to discuss the feasibility of that plan I've been working on until the events of the next few turns play themselves out.

That said, I'd be willing to meet you in chat sometime this week to discuss them. Please let me know when might be good for you.

Very interesting indeed. "Discussions with multiple teams" about Vox on Bob? GS is probably one since they approached us with their proposal. Who else could it be? Probably not GoW or ND, unless one of them is having second thoughts. That leaves Lego but Lego has told us they are planning on entering the war on the GoW/ND side to keep GS in check. It's beginning to read like a spy novel.

Hmmm - here is their proposal that came with the save. It is a bit long to wait for banking I think. Maybe we can parlay it into a cash deal of some sort - or even future tech credits. Anything is better than letting them get it cheap from someone else.
