Ok - read this from the bottom up. This is difficult to decipher .. and very confusing. I think we need the Universal Translator from Gal Civ.

Yes - you are correct - we felt some pressure to do the deal with another team for radio. But we would still like to maintain our trading relationship with you. We would like to get the best deal possible, but we do not want to be 'pushy'. We are in no position to be pushy. Therefore, all we are asking for is a fair deal.

My understanding is that you originally offered radio + ecology + luxuries for our next free tech. That free tech is fission which we have sent as accepted. We assume you will honour the deal and send ecology in return. It would not be fair, in my opinion, to ask for a new age tech in place of radio, and that is why I have said 'future tech credit'. Maybe half of a tech - witth cash for the remainder. And maybe 2 luxuries instead of 3. We want to be seen as a fair trading partner. That is all.

So - my proposal is:

1. you accept fission

2. you send ecology - and we promise not to trade it. (I am assuming the same is true for fission.)

3. you send 2 20-turn luxuries on a schedule as determined by Vox.

4. You owe us say 1/2 of a future tech. We may pay cash for the remainder. We may research a cheaper tech and agree to exchange. Or something like that. That is why I asked what you are researching next. We should not duplicate research. Or in fact - perhaps we can fund ...say 33% of your research effort in exchange for a tech (and we promise not to trade it).

#4 is very negotiable, and we are very willing to be open as to how it works.

That's what I take it to be snoop - but my Greek is not very good.

I hope he did not get me confused by his initial note. I took it to mean they were offering ecology. Maybe something got lost in the translation.

The fun continues. Ends up they do NOT have ecology - I think. But I have traded for Rocketry - I think. And I am trying to get a luxury to boot.

I suggest we ask for more than 1 20 turn luxury if we're just getting Rocketry ... like 2 or 3 luxes. After all, we need the luxes a lot having none of our own.

Unless GS/GoW is going to let us colonize exLegoLand?

We still have about three or four left that ND owes us (I can't remember which number, we'd have to go through this thread to figure it out now), but more is always nice...especially now that we don't get free dyes from Lego anymore.

While it would be nice to take that land, I'm not sure we should annoy GS and GoW by going back on our land agreements with them. I don't know how either would react to ND destroying RP, but I'm not willing to bet on ND over either GS or GoW in a war (and especially both) considering my knowledge of the respective players on the latter teams and the fact that they leveled Lego in a handful of turns.

Bischop just posted his battle report (such that it is) so I assume he already attacked RP. Now we'll just see what happens with the others.

I recommend neutrality again. We can't really afford to be on the direct opposite side of GS and GoW if they come to the aid of RP. Plus like I said above, we did sign agreements with them about where we could settle and we have further agreements with GoW for technology. Neither team really needed to do that since, despite our official neutrality, it was well known who we wanted to win the Lego war.

But can we perhaps mention to GoW/GS that ND has offered us some additional settling areas and/or cities as part of a deal, and say that we'd like to accept the deal as it is in our favour, but we don't want to make them mad ... ?? Show that we're being properly obedient etc. etc. but still give us a chance to take the spots ...
