I suggest a cash deal and another 20 or 40 turns of a luxury. Which reminds me - I said I would start that lux thread. Will do so today or tomorrow.

How about we ask them for three more 20-turn luxury options and gold to make up the rest of the offer...and see how much gold they offer. Each one is worth likely 400-500 gold by the time we need to use them. I'd like to get at least 500 gold out of it if possible...in lump sum or gpt...though 1000 would be better. I just want to see what they would be willing to offer.

As to the luxury thread...we currently have the standing offer of dyes from Lego, the current deal with GoW that we hope to extend (I'm not sure how much longer it continues right now...it doesn't have a turn number on it anymore) and then three future options from ND for the democracy deal.

Rhoth - I agree. So on the assumption they have luxuries to burn - lets go for the 60 turns and the 500 gold. Unless you want to go for 750 gold or something like that. 1000 seems to be pushing it IMHO.

And sorry - I sort of gave away part of the negotiations when I said we were close.

The 500 gold would allow another couple of rushes. And if Lego pitched in 500. Yee haw. A well educated society we will have.

PM to Zayxus. I guess I should have responded sooner. In any case I just asked for the 500 gold and 3 options since that is close to what they were willing to offer. I agree that 1000 is pushing it. In any case the deal will be worth close to 2000 gold for us with the luxury options.

Yes if this deal goes through and the 500 from Lego comes in then we can rush all three remaining universities within the next few turns as well as at least one marketplace (preferably in Phoenix since that is the one that can grow sooner so will need the aqueduct sooner). Then we can get all the cities going on aqueducts for the hopefully upcoming deal for electricity and get the few grassland and plains tiles we have going on irrigation and railroads for some growth in Hope, Renewal, Seabiscuit, Phoenix, and the New Voice. All the other cities will need workers joining the city to truly grow beyond size 6...but that will be after we irrigate and railroad our area.

Official Nationalism Deal

Thanks, though it wasn't too difficult. Zayxus seems to be pretty easy to deal with. And so far in the last two deals I've proposed, we both had something the other wanted so it was easy to strike a deal we all liked.

The reason they have luxuries to burn is because they and Glory of War effected the near obliteration of the Roleplay team..who had settled a lot of luxuries beforehand. The two supposedly had a deal to split the continent (called Bob by us, Borconia by ND ) but we're not sure yet if the split is amicable to GoW.

As to trusting them, yeah I think we can. They don't appear to be a team that breaks their word...and if they did then the world would know about it. In any case the current deal we have with them we receive gold every turn. The luxuries will have to wait, but not for too much longer as we will soon grow past size 6 in several cities.

I guess I sort of figured that out, just wasn't sure how long we'd have until any sort of global conflagration would put them on the other side and thus unable to trade with us, or put them on the "creamed as in corn" side and thus unable to trade. But I suppose if we don't have much in the way of home-grown lux we have to make deals like this ...

DP means double post. I hit the send button a few times.

Regarding the global conflagration, right now Lego is tentatively allied with ND, so hence we are sort of allied as well. The relationship with them is currently better right now then it has been in the past, but we of course shouldn't get too complacent. The main thing we have going for us is that we are unimportant. Only someone who wants to attack Lego will attack us. So we'll see how that shakes out.
