according to www.irak.ru there have been at least 24 casualties until now, possibly around 40. three armored vehicles had a close encounter with landmines, british got some casualties the minute they landed on faw and so did americans during several ambushes staged by iraqis so far.

also, no scuds have been fired and the craters made by missiles on impact suggest those are not scuds

you are probably referring to that analyst comment. however, izvestia is a well renowned russian daily, so i am interested to hear what their reported 'sources' might be

Opposite, irakwar.ru is publishing updates coming from Russian military intel sources. Not all info at that site is coming from military, you have to check a source of article. Besides you shall consider that intelligency may intentionally spread a false info.
