Saddam Hussein's presidential palace is reported to be ablaze after witnesses reported seeing about a dozen missiles slam into the sprawling residence. Some news reports say about 25 buildings already have been destroyed.

21.15 GMT +1 A Swedish military intelligence officer in Swedish primetime TV news, commenting Al-Jazeera broadcasts from Bagdad: This camera is really close to the action, just a few blocks away. Western media is too far away to really see what's going on. You clearly see that the Presidental Palace is hit by missile after missile. The precision is impressing, but with such heavy warheads civilian buildings nearby are also damaged. Civilian casualties are very likely.

Swedish radio news reported at 16.45 GMT+1 that Jordan is not letting them in but asking them to go back home. This is however unconfirmed.
