Ah, yes... forgot an important order:

- Start dispersing the functions of government across Israeli territory, largely in the areas furthest from the Aliens. Aim for maximum redundancy and place everythign underground to hide and protect it.

- Start cleaning up the Tel Aviv fallout, and in the meantime evacuate everyone from the surrounding area. Send them to transit camps or to work in war factories if they can.

As the ships carrying the spray are approaching the canal, we will state that owing to unspecified security circumstances we are closing the canal and instructing all ships to have their cargo moved by land. The containers of spray will then be 'lost' in the process, and will never arrive. Once the spray has been secured, the canal will be reopened again. Note that the ship's officers and crews will need to be specially selected for loyalty and briefed on this to make sure nothing goes wrong. (/even more dead top secret)

Methril: we realize that updating often takes a considerable amount of effort, but having 4 or 5 day periods of inactivity is the surest way to kill this, its a good sign it has survived this long despite that. Can we just resolve our own battles & stuff, and every once in a while you can provide a summary and miscelaneous events? Everyone here can be counted on to be reasonably realistic and not have themselves meet only unmitigated success.

Update!!!

World wide the Aliens retreat due to unexpected resistance, and the deadly cancer spray. They have nuked Manila in anger.

As the Aliens were retreating, one band fought to the death in Israel. Israel eventually won, but everything is in shambles.

In Africa, only a few thousand Aliens were left behind. Currently the AU is bombing them into pieces.

The Aliens have fully left the Americas after a humongous push from the CSA and KA broke the line.

In Europe, the Aliens left destroying as much as they could.

In Asia, the Aliens now hold only Manchuria. Even after several of the cancer sprays malfunctioned and aprayed the humans, the Aliens have been beaten back.

In Australia, the Aliens have left all but the far west.

And as the Aliens leave, they difuse all nukes and your going yo have to research them again to get them, And you wont be mass producing them as the limit is 3.

Okay, I haven't read this thread in it's entirety, I'm not exactly sure about what the hell is happening here, and I don't know if this has been mentioned, but if someone wants to know what happens in the "real" For Want of a Nail, there's a summary timeline here. Read the book, though, it's great if you're into that sort of a thing. There's also a pretty nice collaboratory FWoaN fanfic where AH buffs try to construct the alternative history from 1970s (where FWoaN ends) to the current day.

With the destruction of Manila and the dismemberment of most of Kramer's military in the bloody North American fighting, an agreement with the CSM has been reached that incorporates the KA into the CSM and places all their land under CSM protection. Clean up of nuked regions (inluding, to the best of their ability, offshore areas) has begun, and efforts are underway to start repairing the damage created in the fighting, but beyond that there has not yet been any indication of what the new union's policies will be.
