Detroit is dead. The difference this year is that the Wing's are facing a team with a hot goalie. |
Cloutier was hot too, until Lidstrom handcuffed him from center ice.
He can't post a 97% save percentage for the series, not against the Red Wings. No one is that hot.

Ain't that the truth. I was back in Toronto a couple of months ago and I wanted to see a game. The last time I went to the Gardens, I got reds for about $60. Now the reds cost something like $150. The best seats were going for $350! It's friggin ridiculous.

Ducks Win! Ducks Win!
Giguere is for real. This makes me very pleased. I hate repeat Stanley Cup champions (except when they're the Oilers, er, Protocol).
I like Yzerman, Fedorov, and Larionov, but... they'll get over it.
Great game. Great, great game.
Go Ducks!

Results from yesterday:
Senators 3, Islanders 2, 2OT
Maple Leafs 4, Flyers 3, OT (CRAP!)
Avalanche 3, Wild 0
Blues 3, Canucks 1
Mighty Ducks 2, Red Wings 1
Picked every game wrong. I suck.
Here's where that leaves our series:
Islanders 1 SENATORS 2
Bruins 0 DEVILS 3
Capitals 2 LIGHTNING 0
FLYERS 1 Maple Leafs 2
Oilers 2 STARS 1
Mighty Ducks 3 RED WINGS 0
AVALANCHE 2 Wild 1
Blues 2 CANUCKS 1
Detroit's finished. Not even they can do the impossible.
Tonight: A must-win for the Lightning on the road, a chance for the Oilers to get the plum advantage, and the Devils look to get out the brooms and finish housecleaning. Predictions:
Lightning 2, Capitals 1
Oilers 3, Stars 2
Devils 2, Bruins 0

Obiwan, I saw this coming for the Naslund/Bertuzzi/Morrison line. So much of the Canucks' offense comes from that line, that in the playoffs, every team will use everything they have to try to shut them down. That's the way it's gone for the last three years. As a huge Canucks fan, I'm still optimistic that the other players can pick up the slack, but I'm starting to get worried that they don't seem to be.....
On another note, I'm going to get killed in my playoff pool if Detroit goes down in the first round. Hopefully it will even out if enough people are in the same boat (and you'd think they would be).....

I've always thought Cujo was one of the more over-rated players in the NHL. He isn't someone I'd want on my team to win a Cup. Hasek, Belfour, Brodeur, Roy - those are winners. When the going gets tough, I'd take any of them over Cujo in a heartbeat.

This is totally weird. Shayne Corson has just quit the Leafs! IT's not a big loss, but I can't remember any player every quitting a team during the playoffs.
