I have already pushed the elevator button. The button is clearly lit. There is no need for you to press the button, it will not make the elevator come faster. Pressing it repeatedly also does not give the elevator any additional sense of urgency.

devlimunchkin, those are great mysteries of life that I have had the opportunity to encounter several times .

The best one was when someone was looking for workers with more than 7 years of Java experience few years ago. I applied, got the job interview and was honest 'no.. I don't have experience of 7 or more, since it would be impossible'. He thought I was a smart ass and I didn't get the job, but is it my fault that they were so stupid?
