It says in the rules that you may challenge any player up to three slots above your current position. Is that restriction still in effect quinns?

That is right, Birdman. Thanks for clarifying. One may challenge anyone, but if the challenged player is three or less positions above the challenger, then that challenged player is obliged to play.

Yes, one game is enough. That would meet your obligation. More than one challenge from someone that is one, two, or three below you is rare, though.
