Right, legitimate political dissent won't be attacked you said. If you aren't doing anything illegal you have nothing to worry about, you claimed. As of this righting, plice have raided and shut down three leftist community centers in Chicag, Champaign-Urbana, and St. Louis in the last couple weeks.

In Chicago, the HotHouse, a cafe which has served Chicago for about a decade, was raided by police and shut down for not having the proper licenses (and Chicago's byzantine licensing system ensures that that the city can shut down any club they want to get rid of--as happened to the Chicago institution Lounge Ax several years ago). In Champaign-Urbana, an Indy Media center was raided and closed by the police.

There will be no "legitimate" news sources, as the main stream news never cover this sort of thing. You can go to www.democracynow.org to look up the quote I supplied. As for the HotHouse, I am still connected to the Chicago left community, and I've had several e-mails about it, which I can't access from work. I'm sure Indy-media will have info about their raid.

I would be suprized if the mass media would tell this actually. The source is fine. It's a good place to find stuff like this that you won't hear on FOX.

But its gets worse: Al Jerrera was bombed in Baghdad, Basra, and Kabul, Abu Dhabi TV, despite being clearly marked was bombed in Baghdad, and the Palestine Hotel, which contained many journalists was shelled by tanks in Baghdad. 2 Isreali and 1 pPortuguese journalists were beaten by troops also.

No the source is unreliable and there is no link to it. At least Chegitz should take a half hearted effort and post the link.

The raid in St. Louis took place on Friday, so that would be the 16th. Check the St. Louis ACLU website (I haven't gone there myself yet) as they are mentioned in the DemocracyNow! article.
