MACEDONIA - It's the name of the sovereign country to the north of Greece

You answered your own question: your country isn't communist. Having socialist services, etc. doesn't mean that you are communist, as you have observed. In your society, people do take responsibilites in their lives, and that's a good thing.
Would you say that the people on the top of your society are exploiting the rest, simply by virtue of the fact that they are on top?
|
Perhaps, you haven't understood me correctly. In my system, a democratically elected government is controlling the economy. The people in the top are elected, and responsible to the people at the bottom. The press is not private, too, but it's free, and separated from the government like the court system nowadays.
We won't have stock brokers, and capitalists, but we can keep most of the rest of them.

Ah, here's the problem: when you said "In my society" I thought you were talking about Israel, when in fact you were talking about your ideal soceity. Understanding achieved.

I just don't understand why it is the duty of the state to completely support you economically. Communism separates work from results: In a capitalist system, I see immediate and very personal results from the quality of my work and my success at my job. In a Communist system it seems to me that your work is removed from your success: You can't climb the economic ladder and be rich, and you can't really backslide and become poor. Thus, your actions have fewer direct consequences.
The upshot of all this is that I would fear a Communist society would quickly turn into one devoid of responsibility and independence, because people don't see the consequences of their actions.

How will you build things without concentrated capital?

Employment is a contract between myself and my employer. My employer is not better than me, and it is morally wrong to transfer responsibility for my life to him because of a simple economic contract. It is the duty of neither the state nor my employer to support me, because I have responsibility for my own life.
State education or healthcare on basic levels is acceptable, and may even be desirable, but abolishing capitalism seems to me to be a fundamental rejection of basic moral principles, as most morality is based on the idea that we are responsible for ourselves and our own actions. Communism seems to propose that others in our soceity are beholden to help us, and we do not have responsiblity for ourselves. To me, that is morally indefensible.

Well, then, consider this a contract between yourself, and society. If you will be a productive, functional member of it, you'll recieve it support. If you won't, Your life will suck.

Sure you're responsible of your own actions. This is not about it at all. I am not suggesting that you can just lie and do nothing while being fed.

Why can't the two things exist simultaneously? You have to work well, but generally society will be friendlier, without destructive competition, only productive one.
