I've seen Hagbart before.

Master Zen is relatively new and unknown, but seems to have a flair. Given that other teams have undertaken not to spy, I'd be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

First, I'd like to say I would like to participate in some other fashshion other than just a 'citizen'.

Second, on the topic of 'spies' and related matter:

Yes, there may be a spy or two or three....
But I doubt that there will be any that will be in the Executive positions. Most people who play this game realize that there are many ways to cheat in the game, but they ALSO realize that it takes out the fun/challenge of the game at the same time. How many are going to devote so much time to this only to cheapen their efforts by cheating? I don't think that there will be any; at least at the Executive level. There WILL be citizens who undoubtedly will try to influence their superiors (in game terms) with their foreknowledge about the other civs; it is up the the Executives to remove from their teams people who exibit such behavior.

This is the way the game must go on. We must all be willing to use the honor system to some extent and count on the Executives to police their own teams. Spies will show themselves in time and the game will go on.

Let the game(s) begin!"

People could simply have registered before and shown up now. Doesn't mean they're knowledgeable or that they will be loyal. Just what I think though.

Yes, but if we went simply on post count and renown...

I'd never heard of UnOrthO, Trip, Ninot, Aggie, Shiber, and many others prior to those people making their mark in the C3DG. Many of those had registered not long before the game began. I think that is why I am inclined towards tolerance. All of the other teams will accept the pledge. Do we think that any other sites would ignore that to cheat or accept the aid of a known cheater?

I have done a bit of investigating into some of the candidates:

Hagbart: Good with Mods. May have accounts with other sites and may prefer them to ours

statusperfect: Member of Lux Invictus. Someone from their team should comment on his posts.

Wervdon: He is fine with me. I'll vouch for him.

Adc: Was very active in the setting up of the SPDG and even ran for a first terms office before droping out due to RL. He seems fine with me. May even hold a position in government sometime. However, I cannot vouch for him. If he makes it in, please don't be offended by this post. It is not meant to harm.

Bigfree1, jim_steer I have not looked into yet. MasterZen has over 300 post in one month. I haven't looked at them yet, but it honestly seems a bit excessive and maybe a little fishy. I'll look into this more later today.

Update on research on players:

bigfree1: He seems ok by me. Lots of post about MP/PTW. Seems to have exp at this sorta thing, but, I cannot vouch for him.

jim_steer: An "office player". Could bring in other new members if he is authorized.

Master Zen: Post very strong political statements (but I don't agree with most of them : ). Lots of post in the "Spanish Civilization" Forum. Also, the most interesting thing is the post that others make about what he says. Anytime anyone quotes one of his posts, it says

Hi nye. I was not suggesting we decide strictly based on these two criteria. They are the ones that are easily accessible, and 'may' mean something. The best approach is what Donegeal di - many thanks Donegeal - it is appreciated. And that is to go back and reviw their posts. I did this for a couple of the early folks when it was just one or two. But lately we have had quite a rush - and between time here, time at 1BC, and Vox Controli, it has been hectic. So - thanks again Donegeal.

BTW - in reference to jim_steer, what do you mean when you say an 'office player', and that if he is autorized, he may bring more with him. Do you mean he is playing form his RL work office? If so, please get the name of the company so I can see if they have any job openings.

Based on the above - and the sentiments are still not a concensus - most but not all favour an inclusive approach.

In the meantime, based on Donegeal's research, I am going to authorize wervdon, Adc, and bigfree1.

Others are still on hold awaiting someone to vouch for them, or a concensus on inclusion.

MasterZen- definately an Apolytonian (just chekc out the Span Civ II site) He'll enjoy the game. He is a major player in the Spanish Civ III democracy game and is currently running for president there. He is also active in nation states.

We do this by watching the way your eyes bug out of your head when ring your neck during the interrogation process.

If they go to the left, your fine. To the right and, well, I don't think I should post what happens when they go to the right...

Thanks for the info about Master Zen DC. I don't speak spanish so I wasn't going to assume anything about the post that were witten in spanish.

He does have quite a bit of flare and some strong political opinons which I am sure will show up in random posted throughout the game. Which is just perfect! Let him in!

Being paranoid, delusional, pessimistic cynic that i am, I never liked having 5 settler-chieftain inactive accounts on our join list in Lux invicta. Perhaps thats the reason why we've been scrwed in the PTW demogame.. yeah.. yup thats it

Anyway, seriously... We all know whos a regular here. I mean I can tell from just having visited C3DG, PTW Demo time to time, that most people here are poly regulars and probably won't cheat.

I have accounts in 1BC, CFC but poly's my main. And those accounts are like settler level anyway so I doubt I can cheat by being a member on both sides. But If you guys stick with carthage, I might have to beg them to let me in on their game and leave this one!

Hello all. I've been a member on Apolyton since before 2002. My user name was bigfree (no #1 on the end) but I lost internet service and then moved and when I came back to Apolyton I forgot what my password was and I couldn't get it sent to my email since that ISP was no longer mine. Anyways, I just created a new account. I've never been one to worry about post counts (unlike many, I've noticed)

I'm looking forward to this IDG with great enthusiasm.

Some here might also know me as "Evanwood" in PTW MP games. I tried using bigfree the first couple of times, but it was taken! I can't imagine who'd use that name! "Evanwood" was a name I used in NWN'S, a CRPG.

I hope we play as Greece, very solid attributes for the early game, which is important to get ahead of in. Plus the city names are cool.
