Well I know what my favorite type of beer is now... MARCA BAVARIA of Brazil. Those commercials are sexy, class products - and after watching them I feel that I too can be like the actors involved!

you Brits have strict standards.

I drink strictly beer and screwdrivers.

What about Newcastle Brown Ale? that is my favourite British beer. For domestics Samual Adams is my beer of choice.

What I love about my city is Newcastle on tap can be found in many establishments, and I can drink for free if gambling. So it's not like I have to pay import prices or anything.

Scotch, which stands at an average of 17 years) - but anyone who says they truly enjoy them right off the bat (cringing between b*tch sips) is lying, a la liquid machismo.

It's the same idea on a different tmeline with coffee and tobbacco, etc. You have to force yourself through repeated disgust and varying sickness those first few weeks, until it tapers down to an association enjoyment with the high. Hell, I couldn't stand the taste of cocaine dripping down my throat when I started, as most associates using initially complain. Now I have a second stomach for the stuff, and the taste of it running through the veins in my tongue is more enjoyable than sugar (it's a quick asssociation acquisition). I personally haven't acquired an honest taste for beer yet, but it's rather neutral now... has anyone?
B*tch drinks actually associated with getting laid:

-Smirnoff Ice
-Liquid Cocaine (Red Bull & Vodka)
-CRANTINI!!!
-Baileys
-Becks
-Heineken
-Corona

Oddly enough, I found I enjoyed Scotch and Tennesee whiskey right off the bat, but I've never been able to get past the stench of beer -- and I have no intention of doing so.

I also like Frangelico and Kahlua.

I drank scotch when I was like 14 years old. I mixed it with coke and still didn't like it.

What's that sipping liquor? I had some at a gathering last christmas. He's an older guy, friend of my mother's. You know how those old people drink old people stuff

It's that drink that really warms you up, you are supposed to sip it I think. That's all I could do, it was so bitter I wanted to spit it out

I'm not a big fan of most liquors. I have drank whiskey on occasion, and rum. Rum isn't all that great, nothing to write home about. Whiskey tends to get me drunk, and I don't like being drunk- as I end up throwing up- and I hate the feeling of vomiting. It hurts- even while drunk.

vodka is great, it mixes with everything. But I prefer orange juice- ie screwdrivers.

But I mainly drink ales and lagers.

I forgot to mention Sierra Nevada Pale Ale above. That's another good one. Those are really the only 3 types of beers I drink, Newcastle, Sam Adams, And Sierra Nevada.

Any drink short of the murkiest scrumpy bears a distinct whiff of oestrogen. Unless the brewing process involves rotting apples, crushed pips with a healthy toxicity count and some rotting meat to give it body then I'm afraid it's claims of machismo are founded on unsteady and jasmine-scented ground. That includes neat alcohol and brake fluid.

Tired of ads?

The traditional approach to brewing scrumpy follows. It was considered necessary to have meat in the vats to add flavour, colour and body as it decomposes.

The true traditionalists would solve this requirement with pest control. Any rats killed in the brewery would simply be lobbed in one of the vats containing the crushed apple slurry. The modern approach to this is to chuck a few raw pork chops in.

There was a famous output of scrumpy from the Oakhill works that was considered to be the greatest brew of scrumpy ever. Find one of the old Mendip geezers and they'll still rave about it. When they reached the bottom of the vat they found the skeleton of the brewery cat which had vanished a few months earlier.

This is all true. Cheers!

Yesss... but were you immediately able to sip it back without somewhat cringing - and was it the kind of drink you actually developed an immediate craving for (like how most anyone can enjoy a coke on a hot summer day)?

Beer is pretty nasty for even a whiles experience... the most offensive for me are the super yeasty, sugary garbage brands Canada and the States seem well to put out. In any case, I see most relative beginners who claim that they "love the taste of beer" to be liars constructing a facade of character. If you actually "loved" the taste of that sh*t immediately, you'd be able and want to consume it like a nice cold glass of milk after a cookie - not nurse it for half an hour and seize up after every hesitant sip

Stew's insecurity is screaming out in threads like this. Usually he tries to make me his little punching bag, demonstrating how he can get a job that almost pays as much as he does just for a summer job just to try and boost his security level at the expense of mine. Now this, trying to convince himself that he is a 'real man' because he makes himself drink 'real man's drinks'. The fact is he is an insecure little boy who is just trying to cover up his own uncertainties by ridiculing others. The psychology is quite interesting, I must say...

For me, well I like my beer, but there is nothing wrong with a good cocktail...last time I was in Reading I had a Pimms and lemonade at the pub. So what?

Oh, Laz, You west country types, very scary

I drink whatever is most suited to my stomach capacity.

Start off with maybe a lager - Heinekin, Stella or somesuch. Once they get to gassy I'll move onto something smoother, say Spitfire or a Worthingtons. Once volume becomes too much I'll move onto bottles of Smirnoff Ice or similar concoctions. Whilst on that subjecy, I really miss Smirnoff Mules. If more drinks are needed I move onto shots and coke.

Each to thier own I suppose, but some people do like Beer and/or lager Zylka - I drink almost exclusively Beer or 'english' (ie not too sweet like European) lager - whether in a pub with friends or at home on my own - clearly there is no other motive in the selection other than to have a drink i enjoy.

Only occasionally will i drink some Red wine with a meal, or some dodgy cocktail when i've already drunk far too much and cant stomach another beer!!

From the stories I heard growing up down in that part of the UK - it sounds factual.

Hard to believe maybe, but truth often is.

Sometimes I sip brandy straight, sometimes I drink wine - anyone tried the botrytis wine? Really, really nice when chilled. Other times I drink beer or cocktail. Maybe port or sherry. Even scotch on rocks. I admit I have never drunk volka straight.

Red wine with a dash of cinnamon and some brown sugar, warm for a couple of minutes in a microwave. Great stuff for the winter.

Well, when I'm in a pub I drink Guinness, Kilkenny and a nice Jameson chaser, no ice. When hanging out with Russian people, I smirk at their Sprite and drink the bloody cheap vodka from the bottle. I don't particularly like vodka, expensive vodkas taste like medicine, cheap vodkas a little better, at least they've got a taste. Anyway, I don't like mixing my alcohol.
Although frankly, the best thing I ever drank was a sip of Drambuie liquor a nice lassie gave me. I'm too poor to buy it for myself, considering the amount, although I think that once I have a job I'll award meself a nice bottle of Drambuie liquor...

Anyway, day before yesterday somebody gave me to try a swig of some very cheap blended Scotch and I liked it. I probably have no taste.

BTW, I nurse my Guinness for half an hour because I don't have money to buy a pint every five minutes. Same thing with the whiskey: I sip to savour the taste, rolling it in the mouth for a few seconds before swallowing. Sigh.
I do toss off the vodka. Double or triple shots, either ordinary kitchen glass or from the bottle
Only got drunk twice in my life too. Second time it wasn't so bad considering that I dragged a totally pissed friend quite a distance to let him sleep at my place cause he didn't have money to get home. No real hangover either. :P

Oh, and basically I agree with Bodds, although I prefer the lassies to drink proper too or not drink at all... Only that they should be moderate... I still remember watching over a lass for four hours on a street bench at night after she drank half a bottle of brandy. Damn fine brandy too. I tried to deter her but she didn't listen and the booze wasn't mine so I couldn't just take it... Or finish it. Bah.

You toss off the vodka?

It is fine to drink cocktails, but just be careful about the name of the cocktail and the sex of the bartender. If you are male and the bartender is male, there is nothing worse than having to ask for sex on the beach, long deep screw or a blowjob. If it is a female bartender it is a plus, you can use it to flirt a bit
