Hola,
Now that we have map making we are actively in pursuit of obtaining the maps of our neighbors so as to get the most complete picture of the continent as possible. However, there has been some debate as to who's we shoudl get first, who to trade, what to trade, etc.
Map negotiations had begun with CFC and GCA, the two teams we really need the map of. The CFC map proposal was also linked to a tech trade and was being negotitated, the GCA map trade was going to be a 1 to 1 affair.
The CFC-GCA was, however, had made a rather significant dent to our plans though, as both teams will be most likely reluctant to trade maps with us as they will assume that we will then trade it to the other. This was, ... of course..., what we had planned to do actually...
It was agreed in the chat that we would try to get GCA's map, then trade it or sell it to CFC as it would be of more use to their war effort. However, during a quick chat with Lucky this morning, he showed much reluctance to trade us GCA's map precisely for fear of us trading it to CFC.
Thus, we can do one of three things IMO:
1) Hold off on the map deals until the war is over.
2) Try and somehow trick the teams to think we actually will not trade maps with anyone else... (very difficult)
3) give both civs each other's map. Try and convince them that it's a zero-sum game (not likely for CFC to agree as they have more to lose by GCA knowing their map...)
honestly, I think that this is a pretty difficult trick to pull of, and probably think holding off is better...

The only safe (ish) way (for GCA and CFC) is if CDG had MapMaking too.
Here is how it would work.
1) We trade maps with CDG so we both have the same base view. (Optional)
2) We trade maps with CFC.
3) CDG trade maps with GCA.
4) we trade maps with CDG again.
5) any other related/dependant trades i.e. tech happen.
Thus both us and CDG get all maps and GCA and CFC dont share with each other but both get ours and CDG's map.
Obviously this would be "interesting" to negotiate and would probably require a little too much trust on CFC and GCA's part, assuming we even tell them about our trading with CDG.
The main reason I think it wouldn't work is that CDG has most likely explored most of GCA's land and GCA would not want this info falling into CFC's hands. The same may also be true with CFC but I think it unlikely.

Sounds like a great plan to me.

I don't think we have to worry about them breaking the agreement.
Neither one can afford ill will with us right now. I think they'd outright reject this before they'd cheat us. GCA does not want us to join the alliance against them. CFC wants us to do so......
