I have slept 4½ hours in total since Thursday and quite feel like it. Four hours on Friday, ½ hours today. I just nearly crushed my mouse with a muscle spasm, fortunately I'm way too weak to actually break it or anything.

I wonder if I can sleep at all, really. Feels such a waste of time, and I apparently can manage well without. Well, save for the lack of muscle control that forces me to retype every other sentence, and the pulsating sensation behind my eyes, not to forget the hallucinations. At one point I seriously contemplated whether the bird I had seen through the window really existed or not, and was quite scared to realise that I had no way to be sure.

Idle on the entire server actually. I'm going for a record. Haven't stayed up the entirety of that of course, only started last Friday. A competition of a Finnish forum, you see. Came in second, that half an hour snooze dropped me. State of awareness was monitored by ircing - idle over a quarter of an hour and you're out.

I even drew out an emergency wiring plan to power up my PC should the fuse for my room fail. Didn't get even ping timeouts though, only one crash and one flood-out by accident.

What spooks me to no end is that currently my English is lightyears more coherent than my Finnish. (And hence does not reflect all those hours I've been up.)

The winner won with 76 hours 55 minutes. My time was a meager 64:13, though I've been up ever since (lethargic as it has been) but since the timing stopped my over eighty hours doesn't count. Baah I say, and claim moral victory. Heck, I even let the guy continue when the judge asked me when he idled for eighteen minutes, confound it. Then again, I wouldn't have stayed up enough to lose consciousness if I hadn't done that.

When I woke up from that half an hour nap I felt like hit by a truck, to use a cliche... I was completely out of the circuit, I didn't even know the thing in front of me was a computer, thought it was a cash machine at first. Christ I was tipsy. A few minutes later I started to get back the hang of thngs. Interesting experience nonetheless.

Oh well, time to go to bed...

I used to think the hallucinations were the best part of insomnia, and I'd stay up for a couple of nights, just because it's cheaper than a tab of acid.

Now I'm beginning to think that what we see as 'actual reality' is the actual nightmare, and those hallucinations were glimpses into a 'virtual reality' I created long ago.
