Do you guys think this was a wise thing to say? What happens if there's a huge attack tomorrow and 30 US soldiers die? I think Bush needs to shut up... it's bad enough we're there in the first place. Now he's inviting Iraqi elements to kill American soldiers.

I don't believe there is anybody on the sidelines here, either they are in the game or sitting it out, Bush's statement won't create new terrorists. He is only antagonizing a hardened group that is hell bent on attacking us.

Me and alot of others, not just in Wisconsin. In this case it is great enough to make it black and white, if a buddy who is terrorist wants to enlist his friend into the cult, I am sure Bush's statement would really be the outcry that would send him into harm's way but of course not the persistant arguments from his buddy.
I think you put too much political emphasis on the common Iraqi people. All the intel that I have read is Baath party loyalists which will fight us to all end or outsiders who are terrorists. Only in one instance did I read where there were uprisings by ex-iraqi soldiers and that was because they were not being paid and its funny how angry you get if you can't feed your family, understandable. Now the US is going to start paying 100,000 Iraqi soldiers anywhere from 50-150 dollars/month to guard the pipeline. That is the way it should be done, pay the Iraqi soldiers to rebuild iraq and we stay in the background to make sure it is being done properly. Bush isn't pissing off these people only the nutcases.

Surely the attempt should be to reduce the numbers wanting to be kill Americans in the first place. Statements like "Bring them on" doesn't strike me as the right way to reduce the number of men (and women) who will give up their lives to kill Americans.

Sure you may be killing more and more anti-American terrorists, but its for nought if you increase anti-American sentiment and terrorism.

I get the biggest kick out of guys calling Bush and idiot, he finished Afghanistan quickly without major loss of life, of course all the liberal, commies didn't think it would happen. He took down a 35 year dictator in 30 days and of course that was predicted by the liberals. And, now, it looks as though Palestine and Isreal could really be on a road to peace, premature but looking that way. And at home he even has the liberals wanting tax cuts.

Actually this is like chapter twelve. Chapter one was all about how the CIA funneld money to Hussein in the late 50s and early 60s.
