Below I am repeating an earlier post about the match scoring, and about how games are one and lost. I believe that these were the final agreed rules for these particular issues. I think we should codify these in stone at this point.
If nobody posts here requesting to change this by September 6, I'll add this to the rules in the summary thread.

Per Math's suggestion -
Scoring for the "main" match point scoring will be as
follows.
2 match points for the winning team in a 2x2 game
0 match points for the losing team in a 2x2 game
last man standing counts
1 match point for the winner in a 1x1 game
0 match points for the loser in a 1x1 game
For "tie breaker points" we will operate as follows
1x1:
each *9 = 1 point
win < 100 = 10 points
win < 150 = 5 points
2x2
each *9 1st = 2 points
each *9 2nd = 1 point
win < 100 = 10 points
win < 150 = 5 points
There is no penalty for resigning.
In fact the structure encourages resigning at either
100 or 150.
The player that wins a *9 should post it on the main league thread. The main super league thread will be started when the matches start.
Is this scoring objectionable to anyone?
I have added the following:
You may win a 1x1 by
anihlation of your opponent.
alien race
4xPG
or Your opponent resigns.
All of these give the same point value 1 point
All of these types of wins are also valid by 2x2
except that there is no 4xPG in the 2x2. |

usually a rule of thumb will do too
when your opponent agrees you have 4xPG you can rightly claim to have it.
as for the rating system for super league, checkMate.
there is one suggestion i would like to make:
if we left the bonus points for fast wins away, we could use the % or difference value of "won" / "total" or "won" - "not won" as tie-breaker.
this would also encourage conceding a game early because you only screw up your ratio/difference otherwise.
just a suggestion.
if no one cares supporting it, i'll go with the way you described above, checkMate.

Its kind of sour grapes a little but I really think the *9 scoring is more interesting than the game scoring, but I lost the argument to have the *9 scoring be the paramount scoring for the tournament. |
agreed.
that would have made for more action in the ratings, but it would also have been less meaningful IMO.
as for the percentage/difference/bonus issue.
it's okay for me to use it.
my reasoning was just that:
in the current system, you simply give more *9 points to your direct opponent when you dont concede early, whereas in my proposed version you directly hurt your *own* statistics when you dont concede in time.
so, the problem with the bonus points is to calculate the percentage/difference in a proper way.
just a thought. as i said, if no one jumps in on my side, i'll glady go with what we have.

Since all teams have started games with SCF and they're all in the beginning - within the first 10 turns - I would recommend we find subs but preferably players that are into CtP PBEM for some time to avoid similar surpises in the future where things will be more difficult.

i put it this way:
if something is legal, i will use to my advantage.
if not, i will desist from using it.
thats my basic rule for all games.
so, this being said, id really like it to be clarified if cooperating position-wise with your partner in any way is considered legal or not.
