quote: we already established you're a racist... i mean you said how you (even though you're like a kick boxer or something) are scarred to death of a black man walking on the same side of the street as you |
WTF? Actually, what I said was that at night in a rough neighborhood, if a group of blacks come towards me I'm likely to cross the street, but then again this is likely no matter what race it is. This is personal safety, and I don't give a **** if it hurts feelings.
quote: and you think black women are ugly for 'personal tastes' reasons... |
Actually, I said I'm not at all attracted to them. They might be very pretty, I'm just not usually into them.

quote: I'm reflecting the attitudes of the mainstream African American population. My best friend's dad... who's black BTW, screams "Uncle Tom Motherf***er!" every time he sees Powell or Condie on TV. |
I thought Sava, you're the one who always said i shouldn't use a few individuals to describe the attitudes of a whole group of people... you used just one...
and i know literally dozens of black people who do like Colin Powell and Rice and Thomas and whoever else... they just think they're democrats or they respect them even if they dont agree with them (and many do agree with them still). so over 30 individuals' viewpoints is a better sample of 'black attitudes' than your oreo friend's father.

of course blacks support reparations....if you thought you could get free money you'd support it, too. If there are any slaves still alive, then I'd be all for it. And even black who are over a certain age. But younger blacks did not go through slavery or discrimination and therefore, I don't feel they're anymore entitled to reparations than I am.

At the end of the civil war a large number of slave owners were bankrupt. My family definitely owned slaves, but after the war they were bankrupt and lost everything. What I have now isn't a result of money my ancestors made off the sweat of slaves' backs, but instead comes from what they managed to do for themselves after everything they made off of their slaves was gone. A more important issue is the way blacks were beaten down after the war.

like i said earlier, reparations are a mess and they open up a huge can of worms and only start to pit people against each other...
so no to reparations...
