Arnelos' Desert Ordeal Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

So I left my old apartment Thursday evening believing that when I arrived with all of my stuff at my new apartment, we would have internet access and air conditioning. It is apparent that neither of these things were meant to be. We arrived to find that there was a problem with our cable connection in the new apartment AND that our air conditioner seemed incapable of getting the temperature in the apartment below about 85 F (30 C). Since the outside temperature has been between 95 F (35 C) and 105 F (41 C) much of the time, I suppose the inside wasn't SO bad, but our previous apartment was quite capable of keeping us cool despite the hellish outside temps. So it we spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday without either internet access or air conditioning in the Sonoran Desert (aka "Tucson, Arizona"). Needless to say, we spent a good deal of time visiting friends and eating out aside from doing things to set up our new apartment at night.

Yesterday (Monday) the maintenance people from the complex finally came by to fix our A/C, the broken door knob on the front door, our back sliding door, the cold water in the main bathroom, and the light fixture in the living room (all of which were broken). One of my roommates also found (by a blacklight and the stench) what we assume to have been the spot the previous tenant had their dog pee on the carpet in his room. That was particularly unpleasant to clean ourselves, aside from a few other minor repairs.

As of 2-3 hours ago today (Tuesday), the Cox cable people FINALLY came by to fix our cable internet connection problem. Once we HAD a connection, I had to go to the local store and buy 100 feet of Cat5 cable and spend the past hour or so running it along walls and ceilings between the router and my computer.

As of about 5-10 minutes ago, my computer was connected to the internet for the first time since last Thursday afternoon. I honestly think my two computer science major roommates had more net withdrawal symptoms than I did, but we all generally are glad to have net access back

So...

My sincere apologies for my perhaps ironic inability to be around while "Deputy Consul" for the absent BigFree. Same goes for anything and everything I could have been doing with the PTWDG as well.

That said, I'm back (again)

If anyone would like to be so kind as to fill me in on whatever I've missed, I would be quite grateful.

Thanks.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Arn, I have been making little updates to this thread that summarise what I think to be the most important points to note recently, including things noticed in the save, what has been going on in chat and what our plans are tending towards. The situation started with a Pm and chat from GF...
