Nuclear Master has expressed great interest in serving as the MAST ambassador and will be given the first crack at them.

I recieved a letter back from OPD and Arnelos. It appears they are playing bad cop good cop. OPD yelled at me for not giving respect to him and other unsunney stuff.

Arnelos said that he would look into the trades and see for a deal and he is very happy that he met us. There was nothing to political in either message.

I also believe that a real alliance would be the best for both teams but at this point let them bring it up. But incase they do break a treaty we always need to be defended until we are at the highest point of trust wiith them.

Also, did they specify who you should speak with in the future? I'm sure that OPD's letter was just them being in character.

I had a chat with Arnelos on AIM. This is the main points that happened.

They said they have not made contact with another civ. I believe it. He said that they have 2 JW's searching. I think that is BS. I believe they have 4 or so. We need to meet them near their cultural border as they want to have in-game contact. They have a JW waiting.

They do NOT want to fight now. He wouldnt answer me if they had built a settler or not but I doubt it because the size of their city.

They only have two techs. WC and CB. And they should have Mysticism in 3 turns.

Arnelos also stated that they have not had luck with Goody Huts.

I would concur.

It's useful to ask them questions and gather information as we may be able to discover truths within the lies ... however we should not rely on count on their information at all, nor should we let them know that we believe they are liars.

Just happily accept everything they tell you as true to their face. And also do your best to politely get deals that can be done now. Future deals are quite a gamble with this team.

We should try to get something for IW. That is our IW that LL is trying to sell them.

IW = 6
Writing = 8
Phil = 6
CoL = 10
Lit = 10
Map = 12

Wasn't there another team that wanted to split Phil and CoL to speed our way to Republic? Did we formalize any agreement there?

I wonder if they would do IW + Writ for Phil + CoL. That gives us a slight edge in the trade but we would be giving up the techs early hoping to get their techs later. I am not sure I want to make a deal for both Phil and CoL at this time. Someone else may come up with one of them and we may have other options to deal later. Maybe we can do IW + Writing for CoL + X where X could be 50 gold or maybe future consideration. Another way to go is IW for Phil and Writing for a future tech.
