Twenty SUVs Damaged in Texas Attack
Wed Sep 3, 5:11 PM ET
HOUSTON (Reuters) - Twenty sport utility vehicles were damaged in an attack at a Houston area car dealership, but it was not known if the incident was politically motivated or a simple act of vandalism, police said on Wednesday.
The attackers shot out windows with pellet guns, scratched body paint and slashed tires, causing about $60,000 in damage, the dealership said.
But the attackers, who struck on Tuesday, left no spray-paint messages as happened in an anti-SUV incident in Los Angeles last month and no-one has claimed responsibility, Houston police said.
A radical environmentalist group called Earth Liberation Front said it carried out the Los Angeles attack which damaged more than 40 SUVs, condemned by some as gas guzzlers and polluters but highly popular with U.S. consumers.
Bob Velasco, the Houston dealership's sales manager, said Tuesday's incident appeared to be political. "They didn't hit anything but the big SUVs. The thing is, with kids they usually steal things. Nothing was stolen," he said.

Samething not too long ago happened in California. People claiming to be the ELF brunt a warehouse and trashed some H2 hummers. The Fire fighters responding to the fire said the idiots put more pollution into the air by starting the fire then what those hummers would put out during their life. What idoits.

that's not true... eventually, those vehicles would have been scrapped, melted down, and recycled... using polluting fossil fuels... by destroying them, they did prevent the pollution from the projected life of the vehicle. The pollution from the fire would have been released at the end of the vehicle's life, regardless. |
They did not brun the SUV, all they did was put their spray painted them or maybe break a window. They burned a warehouse that was full of part and other stuff for the hummers. So the hummers will most likely be bought by somebody after they are repaired. So they put more pollution into the air for nothing. Also recycling saves energy not wastes it.

I think that the ELF are a bunch of idiots. I wish he humans took care of the enviroment more instead of poluting the earth do damn much. The ELF on the other hand does the stupidist things, dont stop pollution to happen, and in the case of California they set two fires there that put more pollution into the air. Terrorist act or act of destruction are not going to win people over.

What about after their "life"? It's all the same in the end. |
I believe the reason they set the fire was to stop pollution, but instead they did not and only caused more pollution so its not the same at the end.

They didn't create more pollution, they just put an end to it's "life" early. If they hadn't of burned it, it would of sat around marring the landscape for a few centuries slowly decaying and rusting, or been demolished - having the same effect. They sped the process up a bit. ELF isn't going around creating molecules and atoms out of nothing. |
BUT THEY DID NOT BURN THE SUVS!!!!
They burned parts and other stuff in a warehouse not the Hummers!!! Did you not read my other post?!

Osweld, they created more pollution by buring the stuff. If you properly disspose of the thing after you use them it will cause far less polution. So they created more polution and wasted the materials they were made out of!!
Japher, yeah they could have burned the SUVS, but everyone thinks they did burn them so i was trying to make clear that point, but I know that you are joking with me.

Sava, are the same pollutants released in recycling are not the same as a warehouse burning.
