I bet when you are old, you will then dislike young people.

Basically anyone under 40 is young. I have trouble relating to them. None of them want to talk to me. You can't get any respect for them. They always call you things like old man. Like I'm a vegetable or something. They always tell you new ways of doing your job. My experience easily surpasses their young, immature minds- I don't need them telling me how to do my job.

Yeah its funny how all those old folks seem to enjoy (or maybe they dont, hard to tell) having the same conversations over and over again.

Dissident, didn't you ever hear that life begins at 40?
I don't really consider people of age 40 as 'old', and I'm 21. Old for me is 60+. I find for the most part that talking to older people is more intelletually stimulating than 'shooting the ****' with the MTV generation. Don't get me wrong, people my age are far more fun than people in their forties, but you can't just write these people off. They've been what you've been through, and most are willing to offer advice when you need it.
On the other hand, more people this age are cynical and disillusioned, because their youth is basically over.
People over sixty are a different story. I enjoy conversing with a few people who are this age, the ones who are still young at heart I guess. For the most part though I find it difficult to relate to them, and they to me, but I rarely meet someone obnoxious enough that tries to use their advanced years to beat me into submission over their 'superiority'. But just because I can't relate to them, it doesn't mean I don't like them.
Anyone else think old people smell funny?

Not because their youth is over. Because they've seen and experienced more things than you have.
I find that as i get closer to that age, i have seen and i still see more and more of the same stupid/mean/greedy behavior and less of the altruistic/noble/kind type.
So yeah, even though i am a cheerful guy by nature, i am getting cynical and disillusioned.
