Sorry Ming...

Anyways back to the topic,
Does anyone think that Syria will reconsider its support of terrorist groups now that Isreal is willing to attack it after a terrorist attack?

No. Syria is a little peasant, despite being rich. They are begging with the UN. The UN will probably give to them, since they are a bunch of ******. If the UN would deny it to them then Yes.

Israel did the right thing, and the US needs to support them, and F' the UN if they disagree.

IMO, they're one of the more radical countries involved over there.

Well the United States can veto any resolution that is anti Isreal and prevent the UN from doing anything really.

Oh god, not the UNSC argument again.

Look, people, whatever your position is, I think it's rather obvious that the decisions of the UNSC doesn't represent what is right, moral, lawful, or whatever. It represents one thing, and one thing only: The interests of the security council members, mostly the 'real' ones, the permament veto-wielding members.

Put an end to popups!

Olaf, there doesn't necessarily have to be a direct link between her and the training camp.

The terrorist "girl" was working with the Islamic Jihad, as did her late brother, whose death she was avenging. The IJ provided her with the charge, guidance, resources, training and what she needed.

The top political leadership of the IJ sits in Syria, and it's main offices is in Damascus.

The training camp near Damascus is used by Palestinian terrorist groups to train some of their militants. Among others it is used by IJ militants.

Bombing the training camp was a direct signal to the Syrian leadership of the Islamic Jihad, that if they think they can escape punishment since they are in Syria, they are wrong.

Israel simply started with that camp because it is clearly a terrorist militant target, and because it would create a political mess if they straight out attack an Islamic Jihad HQ in the middle of a street in Damascus.

Israel has been targetting Hamas leadership and has managed to decrease hamas activity in scale and efficiency since most of their time is spent on hiding.

The Hamas also btw have a senior political leadership in Damascus.

This step as I learnt, was chosen as part of a new policy to target Islamic Jihad, and Hamas targets abroad, which was decided upon after the terrorist attack on a Jerusalem bus in August. The same meeting where it was decided that Arafat will be expelled.

The government hints btw that this attack doesn't mean that the Israeli actions are over, and that Arafat may (or may not) wake up in another country, one of these days. Or not wake up at all.

Btw, he has been reported to be quite ill recently. Palestinians say he caught something from one of his visitors.

Also interesting to note, that as I predicted, after this terrorist attack, not a single political figure called Israel requesting not to banish Arafat..

Ok, I'll rewrite it so you have a chance to understand it:

It seems obvious that resolutions about Israël cannot be efficient as long as one permanent member ,always the same one, uses its veto to block every consistent step.

Go it now ?

And don't get me wrong, I didn't say the current situation is Israel's fault. It is logical for Israel to protect from terrorism. The problem is, I don't see any improvement in the future if things continue to go like that.

The US should introduce a resolution condemning Syria for harboring terrorist groups that operate outside its borders and should impose sanctions until they prove to the UN's satisfaction that they no longer do. Those who are primarily responsible for disrupting international peace should be the tartgets of the UN, not those who are the victims of aggression.

This is why the UN is a joke, in my view. There is something utterly backassward about that organization. It demonizes good and lionizes evil.

Of course. What's even funnier is that some idiots believe that despite universal condemnation from the rest of the world, even from countries that have no direct interest, that Israel is in the right. Frankly, it's becoming clearer by the day that the Likud party and their are a bunch of racist bigoted religious nutcases busy turning the country into the new South Africa.

The Americans are wasting their time with Israel: it's a worthless money pit of diminishing strategic importance. I for one, can't see what interest Israel serves after the end of the Cold War. The US pays in lives for supporting it and gets precious little back.

Oh I wouldn't say anything.

Things ranging from missile defense technology, to computer chips and boards.

Most likely a good part of your computer is technology developed in Israel, by Israelis.

Heck, PHP was rewritten by an Israeli, so this site in part, owes it to Israel.

As far as the universal condemnation - as far as I care the universe can bite me in the ass. When was the last time the freaking univerese was right about something?

So when one kills a terrorist, then we shouldn't complain about his sister murdering 19 innocent people??

What kind of twisted logic is that?? Where do yo think that line of logic would have exceptence ANYWHERE outside of the ME situation? Anywhere else you would be called a nut, but when you are talking bout Israel then everybody just seems to except it. That's bullcrap. Terrorism must end in all places as a way of achieving a political (or any, for that matter) goal.

The sooner we all agree on this, then the sooner we will be able to have true peace.

I was watching CNN and they were talking about what kind of response Syria could make. The analyst said, "not much" citing Lebanon where Syria lost 87 planes to 0 in air battles with Israel. That's what's known as a b1tch slap... plus, if Syria tried to do anything major, they'll be glowing in the dark faster than you can say "jihad".
